About a year and a half ago I joined a boxing gym and started taking classes. I don’t plan on ever fighting or sparring, but I love the classes and it’s an awesome workout. I’m up to normally doing 4-5 classes a week now.
Anyone else into boxing training? When I started I wore size 42 pants and 2XL shirts. Now I’m comfortably into size 36 pants and L shirts (Medium fits but doesn’t look great yet). I lost a significant amount of weight and my body not only looks better but flat out functions better.
My main question for others into boxing is for an opinion on gloves for heavy bag work. I’m currently using 16oz Title Gel gloves. I got them back in November and love them, but they’re starting to feel a bit beat. I’d guess they maybe have another month or two of life left in them. I’m looking at getting new gloves but I’m torn between just getting a fresh set of the ones I have or trying out the Hyabusa T3s. Can anyone compare or give recommendations? Both are about $130 so I’m kinda stuck with what I end up buying.

I used to box abit back in high school, it really was a good workout, a fun one at that. If you really wanna get the most use out of your body, you know, with flexibility and all that. Look into doing some kick boxing. Get those legs going aswell.

Ringside brand works well for me and isn't super expensive.

Ringside brand works well for me and isn't super expensive. A few people at my gym use Ringside. I never really thought much of them because I’m not a huge fan of the look. How are they on knuckle protection and wrist support?

How are they on knuckle protection and wrist support? They can be a little tight on the wrist but that don't bother me that much.

I trained for boxing last year and had a bout as well. Knocked the guy out in the third round! It was awesome!!! I still use training techniques but I'm not gonna do shows anymore. LOL I retired undefeated! I'm too busy with wrestling bookings and acting jobs to be very serious about it. And I don't want to show up on set or stage with a black eye!

I have a coworker who boxes. He's still in High School and seems to love it.

That actually reminds me of how many actors and celebrities train in boxing. I’ve seen Gal Gadot box and I’m pretty sure she’d destroy me in a fight. Snoop Dogg is another one that’s pretty good. That guy is a low key super athlete.

That's awesome. I did karate for 13 years. I loved it. I'd love to take up Kendo or Akido at some point. I adore it, but time and money isn't the easiest to come by.
