Probably my biggest regret in wrestling came from the WM28 Axxess. I was saving the HOF exhibit for the end of the night. Little did I know that Harley Race and Dusty Rhodes were doing a meet and greet inside of it. By the time I got there, they closed off the line. I knew I had made a giant mistake. I would have loved to meet the two of them.

posted this in the classic board thread but Ill share it here too....
I feel like Ive been kicked in the stomach. Last year the 4 Horsemen were at Fanboy Expo and I got to meet Ric Flair. I started looking at some of the "old timers" who might not be around long and wanted to make sure I got their autograph & met them. Harley was at the top of that list.
I wasnt sure how I was going to get to meet him until this past June when he was announced for Fanboy himself. I came cash ready to get multiple autos, tell him thanks for everything and show my appreciation. When I got there though Barbarian was sitting in his chair. We waited around and my brother & I started chatting and the promoter of the show heard me mention Harley's name. He came over and quietly told us that Harley was in the hospital in Atlanta and likely wouldnt be there today but hopefully would be there tomorrow.
Saturday came & went...Sunday came and went and no Harley. I followed his updates on his twitter for a couple of days but ultimately moved on once I got back into the swing at work. I think it was last week I checked on his update only to find out that he was STILL in the hospital in Atlanta. I knew at that point that not only did I miss my chance but realistically there wouldnt be another.
Wrestlers give everything to us fans night in and night out. During his trip to Knoxville, Harley decided to give everything he had to us (me) one last time. Even though I didnt get to say thank you in person. I will forever be grateful
RIP King

The King had a hell of a run. Everyone that knew him said he was one of the legitimately toughest men to ever live. RIP. Also one of the nicest and biggest gentlemen as well. Funny how it works. Sounds like one of the truly good guys.

Apparently he and Owen had a good relationship of ribbing each other through the years they knew each other. It was all love.

wow, another part of my childhood gone; what a trying year this has been. Starccade '83 is when I first saw Harley Race; I couldn't believe it was the same guy doing the king gimmick in the WWF years later. Tremendous respect for a true legend in this industry - as tough as Meng and apparently a gentleman through and through. That's class. I only hope future wrestlers in this industry study his tapes and aspire to live like he did.

Trevor Murdoch just said that they wanted to take Harley from Atlanta to ST. Louis because they knew he was in very bad shape. And Medicare refused to pay for the med-flight. So someone called WWE and within minutes the bill was paid in full. Said Vince took care of everything without hesitation. Trevor then thanked Vince for giving him two more days with Harley.

A lot of people knock Vince(I've done so myself), but this was very nice of him.

RIP Harley Race, one of the greatest of all time. Will always be mentioned as a top guy for his era. I met Harley several times and trained in his facility in eldon Missouri in 2007. He and his wife were great to us.

Classy gesture from Vince. We give him a lot of flack, a good amount which is probably deserved, but this deserves praise. Harley was respected by everybody. Rest in peace.
