It would have been cool to have had a secondary younger head and purple trunks to have an early 80s Patterson as an alternate in case the Stooge version wasn't your cup of tea. I personally loved the Stooge gimmick but unless they plan on doing an inaugural IC champ version of Pat, the extra head would have been a welcome addition.

The extra head was a Stooge head.

I suppose the cost of sculpting/making another head might have pushed the figure over budget though.

Now that we’re getting the Stooges we need AE Moolah and Mae. I don't think we will get a Moolah after all the Women's Battle Royal backlash Maybe. But everything about her is unproven hearsay. If they can make Snuka then they can make Moolah.

Thanks for the info. I guess I have little interest in this now.

Well Snuka was made before his case was reopened and then he died before it reached a conclusion. I mean who are we kidding here? Wrestling was never a gentleman's sport or business, it's as seedy as you would think, and in the 50s and 60s when American civil rights were at stake it's not hard to imagine the exploitation that would have gone on.

To be fair, Patterson in the '70s didn't look extremely different from Patterson in the '90s. He's one of those guys like Arn Anderson who has just always looked older than he is.

The best thing they could do is make a Patterson & Brisco 70s 2 pack. It would be cheap to make, you can pack it 1 per case and everyone thats a legends collector would buy it for head swaps

Let me play Devil’s Advocate again lol.
I really don’t see Patterson pre-Stooges era selling. He’s a legend but easily the Stooges era Patterson and Briscoe is what a lot of us most remember him for. He was more over then than he was at any point in his career. By putting his wrestling era gear underneath, it does give Collectors a chance to display him as a wrestler if they wish. That’s one reason I wasn’t into Jakks’ CS series. They made a lot of old school era figures. I didn’t recognize some of the faces and gear so I passed on some. I wasn’t familiar with the era Briscoe they did so it was an easy pass.
Second, Patterson didn’t change much from the late 60s to the 90s. To me he was always older looking and his hair didn’t change much. The second head was no doubt a Stooges head. The final sculpt left the door open for the collector to display him from the 70s to the 2000s.
I for one really like the figure. We never have had a Pat Patterson and it’s long overdue! He should have been made in 99/2000, he should have been a CS figure too. I’ll take Patterson any way I can get him. However I won’t pay overprice for him. With all due respect, he’s an amazing man but I’m not going over retail. Especially since I’m searching for two of him.

They got rid of the younger head?! Well, there goes my purchase if I see it. And I will skip on Brisco as well now. I planned on displaying him in the trunks with the younger head. Then putting the stooge gear and head on a spare body with Brisco. But now I will probably pass on him. (Unless I just decide to display him in the trunks anyway) but the lack of the extra head just sealed the deal for me passing on Brisco.

I don’t know one could argue the non angry head could be a late 70’s/early 80’s head. But in any case dropping the extra head makes passing on Brisco an easy decision for me. I wasn’t really a big fan of the WWE during the Attitude Era. So if I don’t have the extra head to pop on an extra body there’s no way I am displaying Patterson as a stooge which means I don’t need or want a Stooge Brisco.

E68 Patterson does have streaks of gray in his hair. So won't really work for 70s of 80s unless repainted.

Throw in a hardcore title too. Shame it didn’t materialize, but that screaming head sculpt was perfection.

very interesting that they are using the iron sheik torso for him too; we saw a render of Greg Valentine using Sheiky's torso as well. I think it's great. After L2 & CTT1 Sheik came out, they stopped using that mold for years and years, even when guys like Rick Martel and Tatanka, even Hulk Hogan would have benefited from it. I've since customized my Tatanka and Hogan to use that torso, but can't for Martel because their is no wider fuchsia-coloured trunks in the parts library. Could you please post of picture of your customized Tatanka? I love the figure, but him having that super ripped torso made zero sense.

You realize he headlined sold out MSG shows etc. as both a heel and babyface during his ring career? That's like saying because more people of a certain age group remember someone a certain way, it must be the height of their popularity.

More people remember Beyoncé as Beyoncé rather than Destiny’s Child. Then by far that’s her most popular point. Majority rules.

Sure thing, the Tatanka idea came straight from Affliction: Elite Trader; and I've always thought the torso would make a great 80s Hogan when he was 300+ lbs. Rick Martel needs this torso too.
