That’s the only reason I can see as to why we don’t have figures of him. Because of his Storm deal. I’d love to know how long that deal is for.

Wwe owns a piece of him so you’d figure they could all work together plus those hogan storm figures aren’t mass produced AND wwe work with ringside too.

Probably a deal where no one can produce 6 inch figures while storm has the deal

The Storm deal isn’t the reason Mattel isn’t making Hogan figures. Mattel isn’t making Hogan figures because Hogan doesn’t have a full legends deal.

I'm pretty sure Hogan owns the rights to his likeness & trademarks (Hulk Hogan, Hulkster, Hulkamania)..... at one point, I believe he had to settle with Marvel, as he had been previously licensing the "Hulk" name from them (they own the "Incredible Hulk" name).
So, Hogan (or his management team) signed a contract with Storm to produce official figures using the Hulk Hogan license (owned by Hogan)....
WWE meanwhile is contracted with Mattel to produce figures using WWE-owned licenses & trademarks..... but WWE doesn't own the Hulk Hogan trademarks - Hogan does (and he already licensed the figure rights out to Storm). WWE DOES own the rights/trademarks to names that they created (Undertaker, Roman Reigns, Triple H, etc). Hogan is a special case, since they don't own the Hulk Hogan name - they can't license the figure rights to Mattel since Hogan already has a deal with Storm.
Once the Hogan/Storm contract is over - Hogan can then license WWE/Mattel to produce Hogan figures. Hopefully, that will be soon!

Totally agree, and this also explains why he could continue to appear as "Hulk Hogan" when he migrated to WCW in the 90s, and later onto TNA.

I haven’t bought a 2k game since hogan was in it in 2k14. Maybe I’ll go for this one now

I highly doubt that Hulk signed an exclusive deal with Storm. Storm doesn't even have a retail presence, the can't even ask for that.
Look at Andre the Giant's merch, his estate doesn't do exclusivity, he just got a Mego. I don't think Hogan is any less savvy with his IP.

It’s been said countless times that because someone appears in a video game doesn’t mean that they’ll get a figure. 2K and THQ before them signed talent not under a legends deal. Hogan has been back with the company nearly a year now but it appears his merch deal is limited. It’s been address a few times recently by Mattel that his deal is complicated and they haven’t gotten the OK from WWE to make any figures of him.

He had a couple of 1:6 figures in the works while at the same time getting Mattel figures.

This is why you’ll see on Hogans shirt where it should read NWO actually says hWo, as WWE owns the nwo rights, and Hogan owns his own rights. Mattel very well could produce Hogan figures.

Hogan has one of the most unique and elaborate contracts in wrestling history. I’m sure his legends deal is different than all the others as well. I’m sure I could search and find his WCW contract stipulations that were in play when Vince bought WCW because all that info had to be public at the time. The amount he was making per Nitro was absurd.

I’m very tired of discussing Hogan’s contract. They’ll make another one eventually when they can

I'm hoping that someone is buying out the rest of the Storm contract and that's why they've released these three figures at once. Mattel/WWE know how much money there is to be made from Hogan figures.
Side question.. Could Mattel make a Mr America figure? My thinking is that it's not a person, but a gimmick, that WWE probably owns. They could make that figure the same way they could still make a Stardust if they wanted to.

I doubt Mr America could be done. It was a character only portrayed by Hogan and you’d still need some of his likeness since the mask didn’t cover the entire face. Stardust can’t be done either since it’s still Cody’s likeness with face paint. I guess they could technically do it using a generic head that resembles them in no way whatsoever but I doubt they would or that WWE would give them permission to do so.

Think he has to be signed Bc they said they can’t do Dink either which had facepaint. I thought it would have been like that too
