What does the Storm Contract have to do with Mattel? Storm does Internet exclusives and imports. That should not have any overlap with a retailer like Mattel doing mass market product. Do we really think Hogan is signing exclusive contracts with small niche companies? He did. Storm has the rights to Hogan in that scale. Do we have iron clad proof of this? It's bizarre that a company can not put out a retail product, because of a niche internet deal. Neca can skate around playmates TMNT license by keeping it out at specific retailers and selling at a different price point.

So wait, excuse my ignorance, but how do the Storm Hogan figures match up scale wise to the Mattel elite line? Not just height, but arms, torso, legs, etc.
This is the first I'm hearing of this, only been back in the game for a short while.

I think they scale alright with Mattel, I used some of the Storm accessories on a custom Mattel Hollywood and aside from the belt the accessories fit nicely.
The figure on its own is a little bulky but that might be creative license from Hogan and Storm does like to stylize some of their other figs (Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Tyson and Ali, etc.)

Thanks for clarifying. I had no idea they weren't made by Mattel. I thought Storm was doing some type of collaboration w/Mattel. Definitely won't be buying any now.

Yeah Bill from Mattel said they don’t have the rights to Hogan lol Right, but that could be due to a few variables. We don't have straight up confirmation it's a Storm issue. Correct. When Bill said that, no WWE licensee had the rights to make any Hogan merchandise. The only WWE Hogan merch at that time were his t-shirts on WWE Shop. Over the last couple months, a number of WWE's big licensees (Topps, New Era, Chalk Line and now Funko) have released, or announced, WWE Hogan merch. Mattel is the biggest licensee that has yet to announce anything. It's entirely possible that the Storm deal is the reason for why Mattel doesn't appear to be working on any Hogan figures. However it's all speculation, and no one really knows for sure.

I haven’t bought a 2k game since hogan was in it in 2k14. Maybe I’ll go for this one now I wouldn't. They removed so many Legends this year: British Bulldog, Mr Perfect, Bigelow, Vader, Kane 98, Greg Valentine, Rick Rude, Rick Martel just to name a few. I'll never buy another WWE game again.

However it's all speculation, and now one really knows for sure. It's becoming abundantly clear Storm is the reason Mattel can't make any Hogans at the moment. He has a merch deal with WWE if the Topps/Chalk Line/Funko products are an indication, but none of them are 7 in. scale figures. Funko's the closest but that wouldn't interfere with Storm.
Don't get me wrong, Storm has done a fantastic job with Hogan, filling in the gap when Mattel couldn't do the Hulkster at all. It's a matter if Hogan wants to let Mattel make figures of him since I'd imagine he's getting a decent cut of the profits from his Storm deal as opposed to what WWE would pay for his likeness.

I think the stom deal is up and we will see a hogan figure at sdcc 2020. Or wrestlemania axxess since it's in hogan home town.

You are missing out if you want a hogan figure but only if it’s Mattel. The Storms figures are awesome! They fit in nicely on display with Mattels too.

I have some Mattel figures and think they do a great job for the most part, but the Storm Hogans are incredible. They fit in surprisingly well with the Mattel line despite being a little more on the beefy side. Also, their attention to detail is just off the charts.

I wish I was around to get the original Hollywood Hogan figure, it looks incredible. I'm gonna pick up the Red & White nWo Hogan for sure, but I don't know if I'd prefer the "Hulk Rules" yellow trunks (which he wore during a few years into his WWE run after I started watching) or the DM Mattel figure with the 80s belt (which is what he wore when I first found wrestling as a kid). Eventually I'll probably end up with both.
