Could be fun. You load Kevin up with modern tech and watch him remote control some baddies.

Bleh. There have been Caulkin-less Home Alones. And they sucked. I expect this will, too.

What? Disney’s preying on people and cashing in on their nostalgia instead of creating original content? That’s not like them at all!

Meh I wouldn't write it off completely. They have a knack that other studios don't for making quirky directors fit oddball projects and delivering success.
Not something I'm personally interested though in as the original is a bona fide Christmas classic. I would put in in the "never remake category"

Predator 5- Home Invasion!
Kevin has 24 hrs to set up booby traps to thwart the Predator.
And since it's Disney, there'll be a cutesy sing-along between them both at the end of the film.

I would put in in the "never remake category" I agree.Home Alone and A Christmas Story are my top 2 holiday flicks. I HATED the fact they put out a sequel of Christmas Story back in 2012.
Home Alone 2 was a good sequel and should've been left at that.

Streaming service exclusive? So basically another made for tv film which we already got twice. Might as well watch those along with Home Alone 3 if you just want an empty shell of the two Macaulay Culkin films.

What's next Disney Rebooting Mrs. Doubtfire? That's MS. Doubtfire! Are you assuming his/her gender?

What's next Disney Rebooting Mrs. Doubtfire? In today's political climate there's absolutely no way they'd pass off a man dressing as a woman for laughs.

While I think this is an unnecessary remake. No matter how this turns out it will not have an effect on my love for the original, so at the very least I am willing to be open minded and give it a chance as it could be fun. For me, Disney make far more good stuff than they do bad.
I never really minded Home Alone 3 and have enjoyed watching it with my son over the years at Christmas time. Home Alone 4 and 5 on the other hand are just horrible lol. Home Alone 1 and 2 are essential viewing over Christmas in my house, along with the 3rd.

ABC which is owned by Disney had a short lived sitcom called Work It about 2 men who had to dress as women to gain jobs. It was only on for not even a full season in 2012. It was very controversial within the LGBT community en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Work_It_(TV_series)

It wont have that classic score either. John Williams knocked it outta the park with the original. One of my fav soundtracks of all time.
Also no way they recreate the magical end scene...

Also no way they recreate the magical end scene... I have both John Williams Home Alone scores on CD. They are the expanded ones. I try to play them only around Christmastime. Side note John Williams wasn't the original composer for Home Alone, it was Bruce Broughton. In early trailers and posters Bruce Broughton was the composer. He dropped out at the last minute due to scheduling conflicts.
