I’m sorry but the new Mattel basic figures with no moving biceps are worse than Jakks TTL. They are very soulless looking, just buy the elite figures imo.

Don't have as much a problem with the arms as the new knee joints with hidden hinges. Every fig since the change I've nearly broken at the boot. Afraid to test if heating the joints would help because it would affect the boot as well. Wish it would've been brought up at SDCC but MattelDesignTeam needs to pass that along to the Basic team.

Yeah cause the TTL line had no moving arms, head scans looked terrible, & most figures were out of scale. Yeah much better then the basic line with elbow bend, face scans that actually look like the wrestler.

I’m with you to a point but the new scans are so good I still can’t help but see it as an overall upgrade - particularly a set like b100

And the rest of the TTL line? You’re only comparing 1 figure & 1 figure that Mattel hasn’t even made. Look at most all TTL HHHs vs Mattel basics. Bar none the basic looks better. And arm articulation with earlier models was none on the TTL line, then when the line moved forward they finally had a bend in the elbow. No different then now.

Looks at sign up date...
Makes sense.
I would like to see the sales in Basics from before the change to now, though. I’d imagine sales have decreased.

The arms aren’t a problem because they just dropped the joint from below the shoulder to into the elbow. You get the same poses out of them as you do with the Elites. It’s just now the elbows do both bend and rotate. The problem with the basics now is the loss of ankle articulation. Which I didn’t think I would mind because I just display them on shelves, but it turns out I really hate the loss of ankle movement.

as I've stated many times before, when Jakks was hemorrhaging money, the articulation was the last thing to go, the quality of the plastic and the paint applications were nil and yet they decided to not lessen the articulation before they went to work on the TNA line, and still make RA figures
how, in all honesty, did a multi-million dollar toy company don't do what a more smaller and lets be honest: lazier company do on its way out is beyond me

I've recently got Nese, Riott and Deville and I gotta be honest - I was pretty impressed with them

There are definitely some TTL figures that still hold up to Mattel basics...I have a few of them (like Saturn, Benoit, Raven, etc.) on display with my Mattel figures.

I absolutely despise what they've done to the basics, if it wasn't for the occasional updated headscan or first time figure (Nese, Davari, etc.) I never would buy a basic again.
The legs on 99% of the basics I've gotten since the shift have been nearly impossible to bend without heating up in water first. I don't know how Little Jimmy who gets a basic at Target and takes it out to play with can even begin to play with it the way they are now.
The female basics are whatever, I don't feel like they've lost much since things changed.

No they aren't, don't talk daft. The less articulation, the better anyway, as far as I'm concerned. The human arm doesn't swivel halfway up the bicep, so neither should a supposedly realistic-looking figure. In addition, I'm SO glad basics don't have that ugly, useless ankle pivot anymore... now if they would only scrap it on elites too - or at least re-jig it, so it's actually fit for purpose.
