So, seeing as the Undertaker 2UP that represents S8 looks to be the original Undertaker 2UP (Series 2) just repainted to reflect the new look...
Can we safely assume that other's were re-painted as well? Such as, Razor Ramon or Shawn Michaels? Would Hasbro have repainted them Purple/Black respectively, or just skipped the 2UP phase altogether?

I don’t think a Michaels or razor would exist bud, razor head would of been made then just put onto an already existing mould I think razor had macho king body and Michaels macho, series 1 but also had the Virgil body’s so same process would thought, my friend has the razor painted head and I recall seeing the painted Shawn head, so to gauge what moulds they made just look for loose heads, as seems for every loose head no full body exists, with the repaints I think it was pretty much they sketched what the repaint would look like then pulled an already produced figure and painted over it as was cheap, it’s like that perfect 2 used in he catalogue add they just painted over the first perfect, seems that was the trend, may be wrong mind just a theory dude.

Makes perfect sense if you think about it as if macho kings body was reused on Razor then would be why the razor testshot plastics are flesh coloured which seems a common theme with the series 2 & 3 figures as Ron Rudat told me these were flesh coloured plastics from the orient, whereas series 1 had orange plastics

There was no mix and match or guess work. I can only think you're guessing at the process based on a few items you've seen online.

Looks like it's safe to assume that there are no legit 2 Ups past Series 5.

No I’m not guessing I’m on about the prototype paintmasters which would be in 1 up form before the testshot presides etc, you clearly not using common sense if you think they actually made a 2 up for each figure lol or like repainted over numerous 2 ups.

There was no mix and match or guess work. I can only think you're guessing at the process based on a few items you've seen online. I don’t understand what you mean? Mix and match, it’s quite straight forward they design and sketch the new head of the figure then once it’s designed the figure which body will be used which is written if an old body would be made, then they will take the new head and then if it was for example nails they would of put his head in 2 up form on smash pre made 2 up arms and torso and then dibiase series 1 legs to see what it looked like and moved etc, I don’t really know what else to say, it’s why there’s only so many 2 ups and there is a lot more Head sculpts. There is a 2 Up paintmaster but doesn’t mean a 2 up paintmaster exists for each figure but a 1 up paintmaster would exist for each figure as that’s the figure that will be handpainted that will possibly go and look close to for retail obviously in resin but much smaller then minor adjustments will be made to the figure maybe an elbow pad painted on it or tattoos but staying with the same pre made moulds then the rest is history and the next process begins but I’ve said to much.

I've always got to ask - why does everyone assume that Hasbro kept all of the 2ups? Hasbro would have made 2ups of almost every figure they've ever designed (including the GI Joe range) so keeping all of those plastic figures is not possible, many will have ended up in the bin if someone hadn't snuck one or two out
to Hasbro, these are just props they used for the design process, so once the figures are released, many people in the company might see the 2up as an unnecessary lump of plastic, especially once the run was completed and the series sent to market
I see it all the time in the TV industry - backstage footage/interviews etc with various people for programmes, and at some point, someone comes along and deletes a load of unused footage because it's no longer relevant. same with toy companies - once their lines have ended, many of their production items will have either been destroyed, or shoved in a box in a container somewhere until they decide it's landfill

A WWF Hasbro 2-UP is on a certain auction site ... you can add that one to the list as well.

Speaking of 2up sized Hasbro's, are 2ups how we got the talking figures of Hogan and Warrior? If so, were their other talking figures they were thinking of releasing?
