Hey everyone. So recently myself and Brian Myers were discussing the AAA Kelian ring. Some questions were raised in regards to the authenticity of the item truly existing, as the yellow ring shown is 100% the WWF KOTR ring with a AAA logo on it. I did quite a bit of online searching and cannot find an instance of one being sold on eBay. I see one photo only of the ring, as shown here
I've gone back quite some time on this website, and there's about 4-5 instances of collectors who were able to find the entire set, but none of these people ever stated that they owned the ring that is shown. Looked up on eBay as well, other than the later model AAA rings (from the mid 2000's), I cannot find one instance of this ring being sold on there. So I did some asking around, and one person who is an expert at Photoshop said this to me today "Photoshopped. This is a content aware fill job. See how some areas of blue are consistently pixelated and these circled areas are blurred? Image degradation would be consistent." (here's the parts of the photo he is referring to that are circled here).
I've also reached out to others who collected AAA Kelian's during the 90's, and no one, not even in Mexico, ever recalled seeing a ring for sale or collectors talking about them. Another thing of note too, is that the only AAA Kelian commercial that exists, shows a ring with a logo, but 100% it is not this ring, nor does the commercial mention "ring for sale" or "ring sold separately" or anything about the ring at all, only the figures. Here's that commercial
Unless someone can come forward with proof of the ring, someone who has had one, has more photos of it other than the one badly looking photo that keeps floating around, I believe all of us in the Lucha collecting community have been wrongly led to believe that a AAA Kelian 1994-1995 ring exists, and that the database that lists the ring should be eliminated since no one can provide proof of the existence of the mentioned ring.
I'd love for anyone to discuss this, especially the old timers who remember anything in the 1990's-2000's who collected the Kelian's and may have heard anything about the existence of this. We are 100% certain of the CMLL ring, and I've seen one myself in the past 24 hours, but I believe that AAA never made a ring
