On Monday night, Mock Rock, the award-winning band founded by former UCW Women's Tag Team Champions, Moxy (born Moxine Rhea) and Roxy (born Roxanne Wilson) caused quite the backlash during their first live performance in over a year. Performing live at The STAPLES Center, the band took the stage to promote their upcoming album, Devil's Night which will be released on October 28th. A typical Mock Rock performance sees the two frontwomen trade off vocal duties on different songs. According to those in attendance, the band sounded "heavier and more aggressive". Midway through the concert, Wilson, the band's other vocalist took over the stage and told the crowd that they were going to "play some new s**t" and revealed the title of the new song - "Blue Haired B**ch".
Some of the audience didn't seen to notice or even pick up on the reference but those that did were very upset as heard in the footage captured by a fan which has now garnered over 500 million hits on YouTube. Many fans proceeded to flip off the band, mostly Wilson. The crowd was divided throughout, some praising the aggression of the band while others were upset at the jabs taken at beloved WFWF superstar, Mesh (born Melanie Villagomez). To only make matters worse, Wilson concluded the song by saying, "You know who I'm talking about" before flipping off the cameras pointed at her. The show went on as usual after that.

Those who have followed the careers of Mock Rock and Mesh will know why some fans were outraged by Wilson's blatant act. The band performed at The STAPLES Center, which is in Villagomez's hometown and currently, Villagomez is in the hospital with an epidural hematoma following a heinous attack by wrestler Ryan Payne, better known as Needles and some thought that was too far. Wrestling fans will know the heated rivalry between Villagomez and Wilson goes back many years when both women were part of Ultimate Championship Wrestling, the Arizona promotion that is set to close its doors at the end of the month. Villagomez was part of the very popular tag team, Hate is your Mistress with former champion, Katharsis (born Katherine Naught) while Rhea and Wilson were already an established team in the promotion. Both teams were the only all-female teams in the company. In 2007, UCW started booking the two teams in back-to-back matches to critical acclaim. As a result, they did what no other women had done in UCW - be the main event. The company noticed the ratings when both teams wrestled one another so at the UCW 2040, one of the company's biggest shows, they introduced the UCW Women's Tag Team Championship, the ultimate prize for the two trailblazing teams and they competed in a ladder match which also drew critical acclaim. Villagomez broke her ankle during the match when she fell fifteen-feet off a ladder which sidelined her for eight weeks. Mock Rock went on to win the match and ultimately, become the very first ever UCW Women's Tag Team champions, titles they would hold for a record four years.
Their storied rivalry isn't exactly well-documented but reports as well as rumors suggest what started out as a friendly rivalry quickly turned heated after Villagomez and Wilson got into a fight backstage. The reason as to why the women fought is unknown but many speculate that it had to do with each teams position on the card, each team feeling they were superior to the other. Neither Villagomez or Wilson have ever addressed the source of their feud but Wilson sure let Los Angeles know exactly how she feels about the wrestler many call "the blue-haired pixie".
Following the concert, many fans took to social media to call out Wilson for her tasteless act but when asked to comment, Wilson refused.
Amidst the controversy, Mock Rock will continue to tour all throughout the United States, Europe and Japan on the Devil's Night Tour, promoting their first album in three years. The band's next performance is at, ironically The Roxy in West Hollywood tomorrow night.
