This seemed obvious to me when he didn't turn up at the AEW show in Chicago, AEW for sure wanted it to happen but couldn't get it done for whatever reason. If he is coming back to wrestling then its for WWE, he had the perfect opportunity to debut for AEW in Chicago and turned it down, the hype for months before that show was pretty big so he won't get a better set up to go there again.

I’ll believe it when I see it. I like Punk, but I’m not getting my hopes up for anything. If he does return to wwe, cool and if not cool.

I don't know for sure what Punk’s financial situation is, but that would be the only reason why’d he even consider going back. But it seems more likely now than ever.

Punk should secure a sweet deal as a part timer. Grab a few million bucks, main event WM finally, creative control, WWE or Universal Title runs, epic feuds/matches etc.
Then he can rightfully retire on good terms and end up in the HOF.

He just did any interview with collider today and confirmed he did do the audition for the show but he was adamant that this a FOX deal, not WWE. He said WWE asked him to come back to wrestle he would say he wouldn’t be interested.

Apparently it’s a done deal now. Hopefully this leads to a in ring return one day.

According to Slice Wrestling, not sure how many of y’all are familiar with.
“WWE and CM Punk recently have made amends and contract details are being discussed which is a positive sign that the two sides are in negotiations.
CM Punk has told WWE he has no interest in wrestling in a ring and he is only interested in show hosting and commentary positions.
WWE is actively trying to get CM Punk as a show host/commentator and as a in-ring WWE superstar.”

You know, Punk would be an amazing commentator on RAW. Replace King with Punk and the should would have a very fresh feel to it.

Punk is genuinely one of the best commentators WWE has had in the past 20 years. I'd be beyond happy if they used him in that role, can't see it though, he used to shoot like crazy and I guess sat right on the edge with what he could get away with.

lol at people wanting Punk to be a commentator for WWE. Won't happen. Vince would be yelling in Punks ear what to say and whatnot. I couldn't imagine Punk taking that with a big ol'smile. And if anything were to happen with Punk and the WWE, that just means the WWE wins.

I feel like Punk coming back and being in the arena as a commentator would be too much of a distraction for the audience, unless he has an in-ring run first. That was the point I tried to make in my post above, about him being placed on Wednesdays in NXT. The audience at home would no doubt tune in just to see that one hint of Punk's return to the ring, with that one guy referencing him indirectly or that one side glance someone throws his way. The live crowd would constantly be off the rails, but those tv ratings would surely be well worth it for them.
