What do you mean by 'tool' and why does it take so long to make a tiny piece of plastic?! Also, when you say later, does that mean it will be included in some random figure that we will have to buy just to get the damn headset?!
Posts like this is ex-hugging-actly why Bill doesn't post here anymore. Keep it up and run this dude off too, though. It's a good look.
I merely asked a question- is that wrong?! To me the headset is a very tiny accessory and I don't understand why it would take so long to produce that is why I asked the question.
It's people like you that jump all over others making a simple comment that has turned these boards into a hostile place and THAT is why Bill left as well as many other members.

The headset had to be dropped due to pushing Monsoon forward. There was no time to tool the new headset. The headset will come later though so hang tight a little longer. What’s a few more months when we’ve already waited 10 years, right? Lol!

All of his parts were existing parts besides the headset. A headset has never been made so even though it appears it would be a simple accessory to make it would’ve still required a new mold and everything that goes with making, testing, and approving it. Probably not enough time since the figure was quickly moved from the canceled BP to an exclusive in an upcoming elite line. |

I’d love to have figures of all those guys but deals have to be in place to make that happen. If WWE signs them, we’ll do our best to get them in the line ASAP just like we did recently with Valentine, Chyna, Hurricane, etc... Regardless, their absence does not mean there’s a lack of Legends. Why can't Mattel sign them to a deal?! There are some legends like Dynamite Kid & Scott Steiner who will not sign a deal with WWE- would Mattel consider signing deals with legends like this?! Also, will Greg Valentine be available to all collectors or only scalpers?!
We are currently unable to sign deals directly with talent. WWE now handles their own Legends program. It’s evolved a lot since the Classic Superstar days and even the old Legends line. At the end of the day, WWE is the IP owner and we abide by their wishes. Valentine is not currently slotted as a Collector’s Edition fig...I can say that much. |

A steel tool is what the figure parts are molded in. Creation of the tool takes time. Gorilla was existing tooling (mold) from the Survivor Series 2-Pack so we were able to easily move him forward into Blassie’s spot since he needed a little extra time. We’re talking about factories here that have tons of items in the pipeline and have to schedule things precisely. They’re not just waiting around for whatever we throw at them last minute. Make sense? And by later, yes of course the headset will be included with a different figure. Hopefully you’re interested in whoever that winds up being. |

Since you mentioned the Legends program, a couple weeks after Topps SLAM released their first Chyna card, we got the announcement of her first Mattel figure. Today, Topps SLAM released their first Hulk Hogan card. Does this mean he is now available to Mattel as well? |

Hmmmmm...Valentine is NOT a collectors edition and Sting we were told would be a surprise where he ends up. Could we be seeing another sub series at Wal-Mart next year?

Yea but are you working on Hercules, Giant Gonzalez, Barbarian or Haku? I’d love to have figures of all those guys but deals have to be in place to make that happen. Since you mentioned the Legends program, a couple weeks after Topps SLAM released their first Chyna card, we got the announcement of her first Mattel figure. Today, Topps SLAM released their first Hulk Hogan card. Does this mean he is now available to Mattel as well? Did Topps really get a Chyna Slam card out first? Wow, they’re on it. There’s no Hogan mystery to be solved. Everyone’s deal is different. If we’re able to do Hogan again there would of course be an appropriate reveal/announcement. You’ll just have to wait and see and I’m right here waiting with you to see how this progresses. |
