Theyre not going to. Walmart and Target are Mattel's 2 biggest customers now that Toys R Us is gone, and if they want exclusives, Mattel has to give it to them. Its a business. If Mattel said no, do you think they would stop ordering? No, but if Mattel suddenly came to the table unwilling to incentivize Wal-Mart's business, I could certainly envision a scenario where Mattel would come to see less visibility in main aisle promotions, such as endcaps, sidekicks, and pallet displays. Right now, Mattel's product has at least annual regularity in high visibility areas. Creating products that can only be obtained via in-store foot traffic is likely part of a good working relationship that benefits both manufacturer and retailer.

im at the point now if I find it , I do , if I don't , then Mattel simply doesn't get my money. which is not what they want from a consumer perspective. I wonder if they just started doing 1 case of just the exclusives that ship with the regular case...like 2 cases in 1 shipment thing. that way theres like 6 Pattersons for example and then your normal case of regulars...instead of 1 per case Patterson..etc…

I'll be honest...I like the concept, and I think it's fun. There's only been one I wanted for myself (Pete Dunne, and I guess The Rock but I don't think he counts 'cause he was a Tyler B R E E Z E to find), but it's kinda fun peeking down the aisle to see if these things are around. To date, the only ones I haven't seen in stores have been Backlund, Liv, and Sonya, but I haven't really been looking for the latter two. Every exclusive I happened across was by sheer chance - no BrickSeek or PopFindr or any of that.

I don't mind the store exclusives but I can totally see the frustration.

Don't worry Figure Addict™, I share a lot of that same frustration as well as the situation is the same here in Canada, if not worse at times. I'll say this....Mattel makes the best wrestling figures we have ever seen, hands down. I think few can argue that they are the best in regards to scale, paint deco, and even packaging. They have also made huge strides with their figure likenesses, which we all know has gotten even better over time. The issue for me personally has not necessarily been the distribution issues, because only so much of the blame can be pointed at Mattel themselves. The main issue for me is how they choose to roll out their various lines. Frankly, there have been too many different series to collect and when some of those lines are introduced as store exclusives you are now excluding portions of your customer base as those stores may not exist in all cities/countries. I get that Mattel is a US based company, but isn't the objective to sell your product to as many people as possible? If Mattel figures existed only within the main Elite and Basic lines I think everyone would be much better off. Leave the exclusives as online with RSC or whatever website they want to use as that would give more collectors the ability to get what they want. If you want to have a themed Elite set like the Wrestlemania or other PPV inspired waves, just put them in the main Elite line -- collectors will still know the true number of that wave! Back in the day, you'd go to a store looking for the figure(s) that you wanted and you rather left empty handed or you got what you came for. There was no running around your city/town hoping that one specific retailer had what you wanted. Yes, you can argue that even 15 years ago you would still have to drive from store to store looking for the figures you wanted, but back then you knew that retailer would at least carry it, even if they were sold out. In the current climate, if that retailer exclusive figure is sold out, there is no change of going to another retailer to try and find it like in the old days. Sorry for the rant, but this has been a huge gripe of mine since Mattel's entry into the wrestling figure space. I just feel like the way things are presented to us now is just over-complicated and there is definitely room to streamline how we purchase these awesome figures. *holds up flame shield*

I hate it. It just seems to reward the scalpers. I wish they would just have the chase versions of the super stars as the in store exclusive as opposed to someone's debut figure.

I'll never get Sherri unless I pay out the butt because Walmarts in my area refused to get any elites between 64 and 69. So yea, screw the exclusives. Or at least put them on Ringside or Amazon or WWE.com so we all get a shot.

They suck. Its at the point where I don't even bother looking anymore. No Sherri, no Backlund, no Pat, no Dunne, no HoC 3, no Liv, no Sonya, no Ghostbusters. Only found Blayze out of the entire FB series. When I finally find one, The Rock (which I don't even really want), some loser has swapped it out for a god-knows-what-Rock that was. THEY SUCK.

If Mattel said no, do you think they would stop ordering? With as little space as they have in the boy's toy aisle now, can they really afford to say no? I didn't realize it until I stopped to think about it right now, but they have almost nothing left. Hasbro has Star Wars, Transformers, Marvel, and Power Rangers. Playmates has TMNT and Ben 10. Jazwares has Minecraft, Roblox, and Fortnite. Those lines there are the bulk of the toy aisle. What does Mattel offer? WWE, and some dregs and remnants of DC (which is done at the end of this year) and Jurassic Park (which never seems to be restocked).

Do you guys really think a full case would help? People would just buy the full case to flip. Haha

It's worse for us in the UK. We only get 2 figures from an Elite set now.
I've give up on collecting because it's too hard.

but there isn't an elite in sight from any series

Another problem I have had with obtaining any of these is that Target will only put out part of the case instead of putting it all out at once. Then if you ask someone they say there is no more in the back. I would rather get what I need in one trip.

If something is exclusive to Walmart or Target you should have no trouble finding it at that store when it comes out. You should be able to walk in and find it sitting on the shelf. Instead they only get one case at a time instead of loading the shelves with each series like they used to. If they continue doing it that way they should just get cases of the exclusive. Another idea would be to make AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, or Roman Reigns the exclusives since the stores always need them in stock and make Monsoon, Blassie, etc part of the regular set. Kmart & Toys R Us always had no trouble keeping their exclusives in stock. This times 1,000!!! Take the Marvel Legends as an example, the Target exclusives usually come on there own and in rather large numbers. They usually sell well but I always at least get the chance to see them in the store. I don't see entire series of WWE Elite waves much less an exclusive. Exclusives are not chase figures they should be somewhat readily available not 1 per store or less. If Liv, Sonya, Patterson, Dunne, etc. were "chase" figures then I can understand the scarcity, those standards should not apply to exclusives.
