Stopped in just to say that it's horrible about Jocephus. He was awesome. I really didn't watch NWA, but I watched clips of him on Youtube. Very talented, and gone way too young. First Brodie Lee, now Jocephus, two young guys with young kids gone through a cruel twist of fate. No drugs, no bad habits, just bodies failing. It could happen to any of us, horribly tragic.

For what it's worth, Meltzer saying there will be a positive note made in the next few days, speculation of a deal with somebody that requires exclusivity.

Either they signed a streaming deal or the company was sold. The former seems a lot more likely, if AEW isn't involved per Meltzer. I could see a streaming service picking up the back library and some kind of future deal for later this year. The studio setup should be pretty cost effective and with COVID disrupting shooting schedules for a lot of shows it seems like a cheap way to pad out your content.
Netflix was actually how I got back into wrestling initially when there were some events and compilation DVD's uploaded pre-Network.

Yeah it's almost certainly a streaming deal. I'm thinking they struck a deal with Fite tv, since you can still watch the NWA power episodes on there for free. I watched the first one again last night. I totally forgot Caleb Konley had appeared on there. (Kris Statlanders boyfriend, as well as Kaleb with a K/pretty sure he's Suicide on Impact)

With the relationship already established, I wonder if we could see the odd aew guy or gal show up at these tapings. Beyond Serena of course being she has the belt. Ftr in an NWA ring would be really cool. They could do their dream match with Rock and roll Express

There's no reason they couldn't work both promotions since NWA does block taping. I think there's basically a guarantee that we'll see AEW people at the tapings. So many NWA talent have left in the last year. I think it'd be very wise if they used a lot of the talent on Dark to put over the people the NWA want to push. |
