If there is one thing the WWE has always done well, it’s the pre-match video package. This was another very well done vignette.

What's the point of having Finn Balor on NXT if he not gonna be used properly??? I don't know but he had to put over the Sex-a-teen Dream tonight, good show but I hope that he doesn't win the North American Title on Saturday.

Video package was great, the Cole McAfee segment was surprisingly good, and the main event was decent. Everything else was just there.

Okay show tonight.
Thought the McAfee/Cole segment was great.
Gargano is lucky he can walk. Shame Holland ate a pin already.
Kushida should have cost Dream his match.
Still loving everything t do with Escobar.

What's the point of having Finn Balor on NXT if he not gonna be used properly??? I honestly get the feeling that this is the stuff that he wants to do at this point in his career. Seems a lot like Daniel Bryan, doesn’t want to be the guy, just wants to have great matches.

I don't think it'll hurt him too much, he'll be a star one day. Hopefully any heat from the botch doesn't affect him too much.

I was hoping Finn would advance to Saturday but it was still a very good match. I don't have a idea of who is winning the NA title I would probably put my money on Preist or Grimes but should be a good match.
I didn't even know who Holland was before he came over but I'm a huge fan now.
The Pat/Cole segment was a lot better then I was expecting, it's got me looking forward to their match Saturday. Same thing goes for Kross and Lee that was a great package.

Ridge looked great. (Botch aside). Weird night, I didn't like Ridge losing his 1st and 2nd matches, but the dude is a future star and should be fine. Did not like Dream winning his match one bit. I agree with whoever said tonight that Finn is just kinda doing what he wants now. I remember him even saying at one point when they gave him the universal title he didn't feel like he was ready for everything it entailed so he wasn't super upset he had to give it up to injury.
I laughed a lot at the whole 'legal' man thing in the 6 man tag. Not because it was a bad spot, it was fine. It made me laugh because the whole story with Escobar etc is about what the real legacy of Lucha Libre is, and it being about more than masks. Lucha Libre is known for tag matches where people can just kind of come and go as they please and the concept of a legal man isn't really a thing, so it gave me a chuckle in a positive way. Also a big fan of having Escobar's 2 cohorts compete as a tag team with an actual team name. This division needs more quality tag teams. One or two more would suffice I think.
Pat's promo was awesome. I hope he's actually not half bad in the ring and really wants to wrestle, could be a lot of fun. I laughed hard when I heard someone in the 'audience' going "are you still talking?". There are a couple wise asses in that audience and they're hilarious. Not quite "hit him with the oranges" funny, but close.
The Stone brand tag match was really really good. Blows my mind this is the same Aliyah. What a breath of fresh air this weird ass angle has been for her. Could not stand her and Bourne together before. Legit channel changer type vibe. ('cept it was on the network, so more the skip ahead vibe).
Much better than last week overall imo. I did not enjoy the last match from the point Grimes came out forward, but beyond that really good show. I'm hoping for Priest picking up the win on Saturday personally. Although really I'm on team ABD for this one. Anyone but Dream. If Prince had to lose to get a match with Thatcher than whatever, as long as Dream doesn't win Saturday I'm good.

I felt this was a very effective go-home show for Takeover.
Gargano-Holland was a really good match. Hopefully, Gargano is ok. As I said already, Holland has all the tools to become a star.
Dakota looked good in her win. The return of Gonzalez was important. It puts some doubt into the title match. I still think Io will retain, and the match should be great.
I enjoyed the six man tag a great deal. Breezango being angry and aggressive was a nice touch. They should have been angry after getting beaten down, and they were. Escobar-Swerve will be so good when it happens.
The whole Cole-McAfee segment was awesome. Fantastic job building this match. McAfee is a natural on the mic. If he can wrestle a little bit, this could be a lot of fun. Serious Cole was great too. Loved that he took out the security by himself.
The women’s tag match was really good. Aliyah accounted herself well in this match. Ripley-Martinez will be great when it happens. I wouldn’t mind seeing Shotzi and Rhea team up more often.
The video package for Lee-Kross was very well done.
The main event was very good. Too much interference towards the end for my liking. Dream winning was a choice I wouldn’t have made, but I don’t think he’s winning at Takeover anyway. Balor-Thatcher will be interesting. I’m thinking either Priest or Gargano wins Saturday, but who knows.
I’m very excited about Takeover. Really looking forward to that show. However, on to Friday first and the Thunderdome.

McAfee apparently has been training to wrestle for at least a year or so. Should be an interesting match...and for reasons good and bad, an interesting show all around

Loved that he took out the security by himself. I really thought Gonzalez was going to be interfering in the Dakota-Rhea #1 contenders match a few weeks back. The McAfee thing has been effective. It's getting outside attention, and it could be surprisingly good. The hilariously clever bit, is even knowing McAfee has an interest in actually being a wrestler, because they are shooting it as an outsider angle, he doesn't even have to actually be that good for the match to be really good. If he's even a hair above crappy backyard status from an actual wrestling perspective the thing is gonna be a home run. If he's legit NXT ready or close to it, just keep running the bases over and over because I've stretched that metaphor as far as it can go since calling it a grand slam feels lamer than pretending you can get multiple home runs by just running around and around, a thought I'm now giggling at.
