NOT Mattel. But if AEW goes to a toy line, who would be a solid choice?
Hope this topic is in a safe place. Thanks

Super 7. Maybe Jazwares since they just bought Wicked Cool Toys.

I was hopeful for Hasbro but that rumor has gone cold. Jazqares or Mcfarlane would be fine.

As much as Super 7 figures are great looking, they are a bit pricey. So I hope they don’t make them. Who ever does the figures, I hope the first series has MJF and Luchasaurus. Those two are my biggest wants.

There's a LOL HIL-ARIOUS thread at the bottom of the page on this subject, with T O N S of unverified, unsubstantiated information that presently has little no basis in anything other than one guy's word.
I imagine eventually this will come to fruition, as we know some of the talents have been scanned and this is the sort of thing that would be pretty close to center on Cody's radar, but until then I don't know good luck.

Well let’s just look at the upcoming Legends Of Lucha Libre line for a moment. The license to create the line belong to Masked Republic, who have hired Boss Fight Studio to make them. They are a fun, small, independent company with minimal stock on the market. They have absolutely nailed the initial sculpts for Penta & Fenix (both associated with AEW). In scale with Mattel it must be added. The figures looks great and their team has an absolute wealth of knowledge, most of which have also worked for Hasbro in the past. I’d be more than happy for them to get the contract. We had a really good chat with the pint partner and head of design about the Lucha figures actually. soundcloud.com/bbgwpod/interview-with-erik-arana-of-boss-fight-studio Either way, there’s absolutely loads of potential with an AEW line. Great time to be a collector.

Figures news will show up eventually, maybe as soon as NY Toy Fair. Would be great if they were in scale with Mattels but will most likely get them in any scale, providing they are done well.

I think it’s going to be awhile before they get a toy line. WCW got hot in mid 1996 and I don’t think they started getting substantial toys until early 1998, correct me if I’m wrong.
My prediction is fall 2020 at the earliest

Maybe Jazwares could do them. They just acquired Wicked Cool, I believe, meaning Jeremy is in with it.
Not sure how lucrative their WWE deal is or how it would work with that. But at lease someone with some great experience would be involved with it
Would love to see some AEW figs sooner than later

You see with AEW are we sure they want to start with a mass market line? Why not focus on online retail/collector market first?
Like UFC had a mass market line for a while that was ultimately cancelled.

How can that be true? And if that's true, why did the line get cancelled with other figures planned?

My prediction is fall 2020 at the earliest WCW had the OSFTM LJN style figures and then the vibrators from 95-97 period, and that must have been at least 50 plus figures during that stretch. 98 was when OSFTM did the 5" scale and released more of the roster, though. I think OSFTM had figures on the shelves for when both Nitro and ECW on TNN hit the air. That said, Fall of 2020 is probably close to accurate. The issue is lead time. I believe the AEW trademark was approved for merchandising on 5/28/19. I'm assuming they've signed a toy deal in the last 4-5 months, but then it takes these toy companies a year to put product out now. I am hopeful we'll get big news at TF2020, but I would expect a year from signing the toy deal, at a minimum.

I say let NJ Croce make bendables, especially since they now use the Bend'Ems branding.

Its the best selling toyline of all time I'm confused. The Jakks UFC toyline is really the best selling toyline of all time? How can that be true? And if that's true, why did the line get cancelled with other figures planned? Ha ha, no. I can't remember the exact details, but someone was in here years ago spouting off that the Jakks UFC was the absolute #1 best-selling toy line of all time, BAR NONE... and if I remember correctly was very defensive and argumentative about that statement (obviously without any facts to back it up). It's been a long-running joke here on WFigs since then (much like Chinese New Year).
