I called that when I heard Bischoff and Heyman were put in charge of each brand.
If the brand fails, it's not Vince's fault, it's the one running the show.... who actually isn't running the show, because Vince still books the show.
Now Vince can brag about how WCW wasn't really that great since Bischoff couldn't run Smackdown.
How great would it be if Bischoff came out on AEW TV on TNT and say, "I'm back!"

It's crazy to see where Prichard is compared to when his podcast started just a few years ago. Good for him.

Eric probably missed Wyoming so that could be a reason for him leaving. Didn't last very long though!

I wish. OH HOW I WISH. They'd replace Bischoff with Bucky Beaver.

I'm assuming they are keeping Eric on the payroll just in a different role. He's too valuable an asset tbh.

I always felt like they signed Both him and Paul so they wouldn’t go to AEW.

I thought he was doing a good job. The Roman, Bryan, Bludgeon stuff was really enjoyable.

Reports are he had no idea who anyone was. He's openly admitted to not following the product and I'm sure that hurt him. And to be fair, he wasn't involved in the business much in the last ten years.
That being said, they should have had him start in another position and work his way into things slowly.

If that's true why do you even hire him to be executive director for your ing Smackdown show on FOX you've just signed up for a lucrative $205 million a year deal for?

I assume because he had experience with the wrestling business and with TV networks. Maybe they had hoped he'd catch on quick and he did not? Not the first time someone was hired for a job and then let go because it wasn't a good fit.

You know why not talk it over with him and ask him first and ask if he knows the product now and is keeping up with it? Also, dude can't get acclimated to the product in 3 months? He should know everything in about that time.

Bruce is the most ultimate company man and holds everything Vince says like is gospel. Vince has the "yes man" he's needs. I like Bruce but when you listen to his podcast he just oozes the "tow the company line no matter what" attitude. This will be a fun ride!

I though Bischoff wasn’t involved with creative much and was more of a go-between for the WWE and FOX since he’s had a history of dealing with large networks?
Either Eric decided the fit wasn’t right and wanted this, or the WWE simply hired him to keep him away from AEW. Eric himself has stated that creative isn’t his strong suit, but production value is where he’s most valuable. I hope they keep him in some capacity because he does has a strong mind for certain aspects of the business.
