The draft was fine. Was it shocking or groundbreaking? No, but it’ll still set up some fresh match ups and hopefully keeps the talent brand exclusive by next week. AEW is utter crap and Orange Cassidy is nothing but a comedy gimmick that will get stale. The typical “WWE can’t do anything right” rioters are in here. To no shock whatsoever. Moving on. Such as what?

WWE generally builds something up and seeming important and exciting, but in reality it really isn't. I guess the big picture is that the Wild Card is over and we'll have exclusive brands again (for how long who knows), which is what we wanted in the first place right? Nope. The brand extension needs to die.

No, AEW needs to die - 'cos I'm sick of it and it's zealots. I watched most of last week's show, and I saw NOTHING on there that is better than what WWE are putting out.

This is all I heard through this whole thing. People will bitch about anything & everything WWE does and then watch Orange Cassidy and mark out. Orange Cassidy > Monday Night Raw. The Ding Dongs > Orange Cassidy...and this is coming from someone who really enjoys AEW. Orange Cassidy is and has sucked ass with his "Hipster Wrestling" gimmick.

I just want them to do something good with Cesaro. They can start by giving him a manager and putting him on Smackdown.

WWE needs to do this draft thing every 2 years or only once a year. No more shakeups or wildcard crap.

My favorite part was the majority just sticking to the brand they were technically already on lmao

The only time the WWE had the rosters and Championships Title Belts exactly the way I wanted them was in Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 to 2011, WWE 12 and 13, and WWE 2K14 to 2K16 (I stopped collecting the video games after 2K16, due to boredom). As a fan since 1989, this is just frustrating, but as quick as I am to complain, I'm over it just as fast. The best show the WWE produces today is WWE Backstage.

Like...I don't see all this supposed talk of "AEW putting WWE out of business" or "AEW is 1000x better than WWE" that everyone keeps going on about that's so annoying? All I see is people childishly talking down about AEW instead. Maybe it's because I don't have some weird obsession about hanging out on cesspools of the internet where that talk is more common?

There's a thread for AEW, I'm pretty sure.
Anyway, the draft was fine. Based on personal opinion, Raw's roster vastly intrigues me more than Smackdown's, but I'll still probably watch both shows.

Maybe wait and see? Do you always watch wrestling with the presumption that if you can't see where they're headed, it's no good? I waited and I saw. So let me get this straight. Raw wasted a whole pick by drafting Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss separately to Raw, even though they are a tag team, and a tag team was supposed to count as one. And now...they ended up trading them back to Smackdown.

They made kayfabe moves using sports-like explanations to cover their asses over a clear oversight. Actual sports franchises make stupid, stupid, stupid moves that require immediate correction all the time. Anyone still following the most hated franchise in the NFL could tell you all about Antonio Brown. I'm sure it'll fall on deaf ears, but have you considered just...shutting off for two to three hours and trying to enjoy what they give you without over examining every little detail like some wannabe Meltzer EDIT: Alvarez (since you basically just recited his tweet) apprentice? Barring that...have you tried just...not watching? I mean, it seems to leave you pretty flustered. Why would you partake in something you don't like if nobody was forcing your hand?

I agree that the war room stuff didn’t come off great, but at least they tried something different. Not everything is gonna hit, but i just want them to try different stuff. I feel like they did that, also the fact that so many main eventers went to Smackdown and it’s gonna force Raw to elevate guys, it’s something different!

Did I miss something in the clip? They didn't explain why they were trading Bliss and Cross back, or why they were drafted separately to begin with. You premise of this being authentic holds value, except they didn't execute it like that. The story was easy, and honestly pretty good. USA drafted Bliss only on purpose, Bliss subsequently demands they pick up Cross as well, so they do. USA either informs Cross she'll be a bench warmer, or Cross doesn't want to be on RAW, and they have to make a snap trade to get rid of them. The story itself is actually really really good and would totally add to the Cross/Bliss line, which has been a really entertaining story. Except they didn't use any of that and just made it seem random. This type of situation absolutely happens all the time in sports. I still remember the Vancouver Grizzlies drafting Steve Francis, after he made it insanely public he had zero intention of ever playing there. The entire NBA face palmed at that one. No complaints on the idea, but they botched the execution and the chance to really add to the story. *unless I didn't see that part somewhere else on wwe.com/youtube/etc.

You guys are delusional if you thought that draft was good let alone fine, nothing really changed other than Randy Orton going to Raw. Smackdown lost some of their best mid-carders. Plus the whole draft was spoiled anyways with someone leaking it online.
