Why in the world would they pull a popular toy line off the shelves just a few weeks before the holiday season?
Be logical here people

Target is getting set up for the holidays and a lot of the new elite sets, like E71, are going to stores with a street date of mid-November. Sadly, the DCPI is the same for all elites, so they are all coming up that they cannot be sold until this date. Its a big mess that a lot of stores just don't understand. I work at Target now and its just something silly that other employees take way too seriously.

You'd think they'd been pulled from Walmart. We got the reset. We got *maybe* 3 or 4 cases at each store. Now they're all completely empty and useless again. What's the excuse this time? thats how mine have been, haven’t seen an elite figure at a Walmart in nearly 2 months.

I often wonder what they pay these employees to do since the shelves never change. It is always the same items on the shelves across all the aisles at Target & Walmart despite brickseek showing more in the store. You arnt going to be around long if the product stays in the back & isn’t on the shelves for the customers to purchase. This whole street date idea is ridiculous and will just get customers to stop shopping at your store and just help to end retail shopping.

It's corporate's choice what to put on sale/clearance or damage out. The workers are paid to stock everything and ring up customers on their feet all day long. The employees on the floor just get told what to do by corporate so it's kinda awkward. Even if you want to stock more WWE figures because the ones on the shelf aren't selling. The people who don't know or care about WWE figures will just get mad at you for it and act like you are the bad guy for pulling 'perfectly good' merch off the shelf. Corporate has it's own ideas about what will sell and what won't so they don't always know what to order. My local target suffered from the higher management ordering a crap ton of NXT and legends figs. We had them warm for months upon months until they sold on clearance or probably got shipped off to salvage after a long ass time on the shelf. Heck, even the basic rings were about 40 dollars before some how they wound up for clearance for 10. Kinda reminds me how TRU screwed itself over by overpricing. It's a poor business model. Gotta know your customer and their products if you want to drive sales and have repeat business.

It so come the holiday season they have the product on the selves. Unfortunately they have a set dpci number so if it’s in their system to hold that item for the holiday reset it’s going to mess up the figures that have already been on the pegs.

The crux of the issue seems to be the general DCPI being used for core Elites and Target unable to discern between what's actually supposed to be street dated and what is semi-recent stock that shares the DCPI. E69 has been out for a while between Walmart and Target but E71 is dropping and I assume that's what's been street dated for mid November. However E68 brought in the new DCPI so any core Elites can't be sold according to Target with the exception of Network Spotlights, Entrance Greats, Ultimates, etc. that have unique DCPIs

Target may or may not. From talking with Mattel and Target, neither have a definite answer, but putting the pieces they've given together, Mattel alerted them to Sonya Deville's missing skirt, Target proceeded to recall the figures in the most ridiculous fashion, wrecking the entire main Elite line in the system.

Target does it with every reset. They’ll have product come in and those pallets will be held in back for their reset date. So even though the manufacturer didn’t have a street date Target will say it’s street dated even though it isn’t really. Somehow though with the wwe elite figures they aren’t taking into consideration the DPCI is the same.
And why would they recall Sonya? There’s no safety issue so there’s no reason to recall it. If you read the product description details on Mattel’s site or any site that list Elites or any other product the last thing it says is “Colors and Decorations may vary” which is their protection for things like that where the figure is different from the proto pics. So why would Mattel issue a recall on Sonya?

I almost put that down thinking it was Sonya's fault but now that you mention it, that does make the most sense why Target would be the only ones pulling this trick. That's the downside of core Elites having the same DCPI as opposed to the store exclusives since like I said, the Network Spotlights and other lines have a unique DCPI.

So why would Mattel issue a recall on Sonya? It is POSSIBLE that Target has an internal street date on some set or all of the Elite figures, but two different supervisors assured me that isn't what's preventing Sonya and Liv from ringing up, and the system actually shows INTERNAL notes to remove the figures from shelves (not a "recall") for Aiden English, Rusev, Bobby Lashley, and Harper. Mattel is issuing checks for the skirt error if you call support. My guess is they wanted to cut that off at the pass. I know that Mattel made Target aware of the issue. Got really lucky that I got someone at Mattel that cared and seemed pretty up to date on the issue.

They have toy department, grocery department, carts, etc. So they work on stocking shelves in their specific department. So if the truck comes in on Monday they need to have the shelves stocked for Tuesday morning. I had to find a helpful employee to scan the tag to find more in the back to get Liv Morgan & Sonya Deville and the rest of the case has never been put out.

Corporate told me about them pulling figures, however, and that this is the reason for the block at the register. What no one has been concrete about is WHY Target is pulling them from shelves.. but Mattel did make them aware of the issue with Deville.

I tried to buy some & a manager? came over & checked on his phone & told me they had been recalled. I told him their more on the shelves & to go get them. Wouldn't this be a good time to try to"buy" shelfwarmers like KO, AJ, Braun, Rollins only to have them be "recalled" ? Just asking.
