That’s what I like to see. Shock wins with regular moves. That wasn’t expected and the crowd was stunned too.

Kaz no selling a NAFTA Destroyer, a table powerbomb, and smashing his head like a gourd on the apron

That was a great night. We got Rick & Morty, Sans, and great wrestling.

Love AEW but terrible show tonight.Lucha Bros should have won the titles but SCU is a sold team, the ending was ass and SCU got zero pop from the crowd, bad booking for the ending of the match up by Cody,Bucks and company.Seemed rush to me with how little of TV time they had left.

Old ass SCU are the first tag champs? This is supposed to beat WWE? WWE is just as guilty as pushing "old ass" people. Lesnar, Styles, Lashley, Orton, Mysterio, both Hardy's, Balor, Strowman, Nakamura. Not to mention all those old guys they keep bringing back because the current roster cant draw worth a damn. All of those guys are either over 40, or almost 40. Also, AEW did beat WWE. NXT and SmackDown were both had less fans watching last week than AEW.

B-But...I thought they were supposed to be the alternative to WWE!?!?!? Also, Smackdown was moved to a network that hardly anyone watches so I'm not shocked that they didn't have as many viewers.

It was promoted all over Fox during NFL games and everything. If people wanted to watch it, then they would have followed it to the network.

SCU!!! That was an awesome episode. Loved the ending.
I seriously do not understand the negative comments in here. The crowd sounded pretty up for the Shida match to me. I thought it did a great job of introducing Shanna and giving her a chance to show she could wrestle, while also reintegrating Shida now that she's made the permanent move. I loved that they had so many near falls from Shanna off roll ups, etc (Similar to how Riho snuck out wins over Shida and Nyla the first time). Showed Shida growing in being able to anticipate those more and not get caught. Setting up a good eventual challenge to Riho to take the title. I think that was the best women's match on AEW so far honestly.
That show flew by for me, Moxley killed it and you can really see how excited and passionate he is again. That is exactly how Orange Cassidy can be used in matches to strong effect. SCU winning was a really smart decision to me.
This was definitely my favourite AEW weekly show so far. Sure none of the matches were as crazy as some of the others on TV, but this really felt like the most sustainable episode they've done, in that they didn't give away too much PPV quality stuff, and still made it incredibly entertaining.
I really don't give a **** what anyone else thinks of it, but for me, AEW has so much more importance and significance than I can articulate. Far transcending just a wrestling show, and I am still getting goosebumps every single week.

Is it just me, or does Hikaru Shida's theme sound just like the Naruto main theme?

I am enjoying AEW - it's now a show I look forward to watching on a weekly basis. Yes there's the novelty in just having an alternative product to watch with new characters to invest in, but stepping back - they have a mix of storytelling for everyone, from really scientific competition, to hardcore, to plain silly. This is the most inspired Chris Jericho I've seen in years and he's absolutely loving what he's doing which makes me the consumer love the product even more.
I think the Lucha Bros should have won, but the simple roll-up/clean finish was a surprise you don't see these days and they are definitely turning Scorpio Sky into something for the future. So far I can't say they are doing anything glaringly wrong with the booking.
I know since kayfabe died in the late 90s that win-loss records mean nothing; but it's interesting to see what the long-term plan is with this gimmick. Guys like Sammy Gavera who claims to be the greatest is 0-3, so what does that mean? Stay tuned!

Overall good show again. Most stuff with Jericho is funny, but he can't carry the show. They do need to develop more story lines for single wrestlers. AEW has a decent roster and needs to start getting into more singles matches over 6 man and tag matches.

AEW has a decent roster and needs to start getting into more singles matches over 6 man and tag matches. I think we have to take the first month with a grain of salt in that regard because of the tag tournament. Was always going to be more tag matches in the beginning to help establish that division. Long term though, I wonder if they're going to keep using the 6 mans, etc, similar to how New Japan does and building stories/feuds that way. I hope it ends up somewhere in the middle. I really like some of the 6 mans, etc, but it can definitely get over-saturated. I understand New Japan doing it, but I don't see that translating to a weekly tv show. I think it makes a lot of sense to have the 6 man scenarios etc on AEW dark, but would be happy to see more singles action picking up on the weekly show. I think we'll see that happen now that the tag division has sort of a pecking order established.

Best episode so far. Absolutely LOVED the ride-along interview segments with Tony and Cody. Loads of promo time following the complaints of fans who wanted more storylines and character development. SCU are the freaking tag team champions! Absolutely fantastic.

Maybe it's the sign of a company who actually listens when it comes to improving their product and is receptive to criticism instead of being standoff-ish and arrogantly stubborn.
