I’ve always wondered, why was the Classic Series 1 Tag Teams - The Hart Foundation re-released but without the pink knee pads? I remember owning the second set and not the original as the two packs were never released in store in the UK (minus the two exclusives we got), but there was a shop I used to go to for my figures that got plenty of these so as a young un I had to own it. Nowadays, especially on eBay UK, this set seems to be more prominent that the original release, but why?

Just were getting lazy. I think they released the Screwjob Michaels 3 times. The 2 pack, regular CS set with entrance gear, and alternate without it.

I vaguely, vaguely recall this. But I don't remember a second pressing of CSTT Series 1, only Classic Supestars Series 1 Singles and Series 6 singles, which were released together around the beginning of 2009. You can tell the difference between the originals and the second pressing/wave by the caution/warning text on the bottom of the package: the originals do not have the warning.
I'll see if I can dig up any info on this but my gut tells me that both versions would have been released around the same time. They call it a "running change" when they make modifications while figures are still in production, and I feel like thats probably what happened here..But who knows.

Classic tag teams came out the same time as Series 1 of the single line. This particular set didn't surface until Series 9 came out (I bought it the same day as the Tazz came out) so it was at least 2 years later. That's what's for me so confused.

^Maybe they wanted to capitalize on Bret's DVD releasing at the end of '05? Just theorizing...

I don’t recall a second CSTT1 release. Off the top of my head there was... CSTT 1. WalMart Hart Foundation 3 Pack in all pink. An online Hart Foundation 2-Pack with jackets.
CS Singles Hitman figures - Black top w/ pink tights (CS1) All pink. (CS3?) All black with blue stripes.(CS11?) A black top and crotch piece w/ pink legs.
As well as these for Bret - RSC Montreal Screw job. RSC WM set with Austin. Walmart 3 pack with Bret in all black.
Anvil - WalMart Tag Team Partners 3-Pack.

I can assure you PJ, it was definitely re released. Road Warriors and Rockers weren't but Bret/Anvil was. Here's a MOC picture - It was released without the pink kneepads although Bret had black ones and anvil had none. This set is legit and was sold in stores and online in the UK. I just wondered why, it's never been said and it seems really random.

Ok in the UK. I guess that’s why I didn’t know about it.
