***Final Thoughts on today*** After 5 Walmart’s and 5 Targets, 10 stores in total, and nearly 3hours of driving, only 2 stores were worth the trip. Every target was terrible and only 1 chase figure was found. I did walk away with 3 elites but I feel that I didn’t get enough. Targets are just terrible and that’s where a couple exclusives are that I’d like to have but there’s no way I’ll see them with the way it looked today *** I’m going to try something different than I normally see. Me and my wife are going to all Walmart’s and targets within a 50 mile radius of us. I’ll keep editing this post with pictures and locations during today’s adventure. I’m doing this to maybe help others around me as well as hoping to get Mattel’s attention with distribution issues It started off in Washington, PA and we stopped at Target first. I didn’t get a picture but there wasn’t anything except Basic 98s and Top Picks AJ Styles. Yesterday I went to Uniontown, PA Walmart and Target as well as Belle Vernon, PA Walmart. Washington, PA Walmart looked like this... Heading to West Mifflin next and will update this post West Mifflin Target has E69 but only Miz West Mifflin Walmart has E70 and picked up EC3, Gargano and Brisco!! Irwin, PA Target was pretty empty as well Greensburg Target Greensburg Walmart has to be the nicest set up I seen at all stores.

it's ambitious, but unless your wife really loves walmart/target and/or toy collecting, running into those big box stores is going to get tired real quick

She’s fine with my hobby, plus while I’m looking she can get stuff too

This picture hammers home how I’ve felt for a few years. I do believe you need the top guys to be readily available at all times, but there’s four different AJ figures there, and all I can think is... why?

I do believe you need the top guys to be readily available at all times, but there’s four different AJ figures there, and all I can think is... why? This 100%! I started collecting figures in the Jakks days sometime in December 2007. Then proceeded to move to Mattel in 2010 when they came out. One thing I've always liked about Jakks is their ability to get a lot of mid-card and jobbers out in figures readily. I understand from a business perspective why Mattel would have multiple Jeff Hardy/AJ Styles/John Cena/Triple H figures as they sell well, but as a figure collector I sometimes get a bit burned out. Another thing is I feel the number of figures coming out now (Series-wise) is two or three times the amount that Jakks would make, so once a set finally hits store shelves around me I feel that my enthusiasm is already dead as the next Elite set prototype images have come out and they're already up for Pre-Order. The store exclusives don't help either, with this chase variant at Wal-Mart, that one as a Ringside Exclusive, then one at Target, etc.

I understand that a chase figure is just that, a chase.... but if you don’t even have a chance with distribution in your area it’s not even fair

You picked a good day to hunt. The whole area had been barren for months, but most Walmarts around Pittsburgh got E70 over night and had them on the pegs today. I'm in the North Hills and managed to find a fresh case of E70 and basic 100 with a chase HBK.

I’m glad I got Gerald though, he was a huge want.

Nice. I'm up in the North Hills and hit 3 Targets almost daily, all fairly close and always come up empty handed. I go out to my sisters after work to see my nephews and if traffic isn't too bad from Pittsburgh I'll head down 30 on my way to Elizabeth and hit the Greensburg Norwin Targets and Walmarts. So it was a fun read for me seeing your trek.

Just in those pictures alone there are three basic, two elite, one battle pack, and one 12 inch AJ, plus he's in that Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots knock-off game as well...and there's probably a Retro AJ hiding behind some of those other series 3 figures.
That's a hugton of AJ Styles figures to have on the pegs at one time.

My son and I do this from time to time too. It's fun, he enjoys the adventure.

I was just hoping someone from Mattel sees the Target distribution problem in my area, because the Walmart exclusives haven't been an issue at all.

Oh wow, the One Night Only HBK variant just hangin' there!
This was a fun idea. Glad you found some new Elites.

My reaction shouldn't have to be shock at seeing something besides Basics on a shelf, but here we are.
