He’s under contract with FOX though. That’s the only reason I’m sure he agreed to be on the show. It’s a show about the WWE, but it’s produced and controlled by FOX.

Shocked by the amount of people who seem genuinely offended by this. Questioning his morals and even judging his character? Some are taking this way too personally.
His breakup with WWE was as ugly as it gets, but it's nothing new. There have been plenty of guys who have left the company on rocky terms and the ensuing years were filled with lots of bad blood and courtroom trials. But in the end, time does heal all wounds. People get over stuff. Relationships are mended. Not everybody wants to live their life taking these huge grudges to the grave.
For the crowd getting overly excited that this will lead to more or the ones who are upset he's not going to AEW or some other company, just remember that Punk is 41 years old and hasn't wrestled in almost six years. He is allowed to make a living that doesn't involve him stepping into the ring. Him bleeding in front of a few hundred people at the Inman Sports Complex in NJ then giving a passionate Mickey Rourke-inspired speech was likely never in the cards. Not sure what people were really expecting here.

Laughing at people calling Punk a sellout or money-hungry (the man is worth ing millions, I think he's fine money-wise lmao) as if burned bridges can never be repaired ever and thus he has to hate WWE for the rest of his life. (Also, his contract is with FOX, not WWE.)

(Also, his contract is with FOX, not WWE.) Agreed 100%. The same people calling him a "sellout" today were probably calling him "butthurt" yesterday. The guy got a killer offer from FOX to simply talk wrestling without having to punish his body. Sounds like a dream job for a 41 year-old former pro wrestler. But he should have turned it down as to not offend a few anonymous fans critiquing from their high horse? This isn't CM Punk crawling back on his hands and knees begging Vince for forgiveness. This is a guy closing some old wounds who made a very smart business decision.

I dont care what happened or how it happened. Even though this is not a guaranteed actual "WWE" return, having Punk back involved with the company in ANY way is step 1.
The guy isn't getting younger, and all I'd want to see is one more run with the current crop of talent I bet he would tear it up with a lot of guys

That is fresh. I would have like to have seen him elsewhere, anti-establishment style and all, but I am happy for all those that longed for him to return, and to the E. Next step commentary team.

SO happy to see this.
It's a conscious decision to have him on. It's a dipping of the toe back in the water to see if they can get along.
Time heals all wounds.
And Money.

It would be great if it was though Demolition is another bridge they can't seem to rebuild. I guess it's too demolished! Bad joke I know. The only reason I can think of him being back is the money he spent on the lawsuits he had.

Sure he's under contract with Fox but they could have had Punk on a show about hockey, he knows a lot about it, or a show about baseball, MMA, tiddlywinks, etc, but nope, Punk is talking about WWE. And if you think WWE doesn't have their hands in this, you're nuts.
All that build up, all that drama, and he comes back and steals a line from Roddy Piper with a little twist. I liked that. lol
I'm not a CM Punk fan at all. But it'll be good for the WWE once he does his eventual return at Mania next year.
So much for that great, almighty, AEW eh?

I look at it like this... Ultimate Warrior, Sting, & Goldberg all had no relationship or a bad relationship with Vince/WWE. They all signed on with 2K (not WWE) for promotional work in the video games. And in all 3 incidences, it lead to all of them having another moment (or several) with the company.
So while this doesn't mean Punk is back in WWE per se, it certainly opens more doors than before. Add that with the fact that WWE supposedly gave FOX their full blessing to hire him, and WWE put out a press release on Punk, I could see them all sitting down at some point to discuss the options.
It may be nothing more than a HOF induction. It could be one last match. It could be one last run. Regardless, I'm just happy to see him back in some form or fashion.

It would be great if it was though I dont think WWE has made it a priority to try and settle things with her. There are plenty of wrestler who held WWE hostage for money or sued them and they've all came back eventually. So I see it being possible but I also dont feel the effort to truly get Owen in the WWE is being done. It's a shame. I really want them to honor him in an Elite.
