Imo I thought this was the weakest episode of Dynamite so far.

yeah I can't say this was a good episode at all.
Jericho is entertaining as hell, he truly is the GOAT no doubt. But AEW just went so amateur for some reason. If you've got a comedy act like the best friends with orange cassidy dressed up as a turkey, there's no rhyme or reason to give them a W over the #1 contender team - you're damaging a legit team's heat for the sake of a laugh. The Blade/Butcher debut was one of the most terrible debuts I've ever witnessed, no crowd reaction, silly unnecessary entrance through the bottom of the ring. It works for someone like Kane, but definitely not for 3rd rate vaudeville Skinner and Ron Bass look-a-likes. The women's division is in dire straights, Statlander looks impressive enough but everyone is sloppy. Don't feature this division if you don't have the talent to support it yet! Dustin's promo was rushed, I find that's the biggest problem with all these guys - their timing is off, I don't know if it's nerves or what, but nothing seems smooth - there are split second delays in how they enter the ring or land a blow that just takes away from the product.
Pac vs. Omega was good and MJF vs. Page was expected, likewise with the main event, no one seriously would think Scorpio was leaving with the AEW belt. I guess they are allowed to have a bad show here and there, but I hope they don't continue this trend.

I guess they are allowed to have a bad show here and there, but I hope they don't continue this trend. Who said the best friends are a pure comedy act? From day 1 they've been picking up W's in relatively important settings. It's clear the AEW crew is very high on Trent Beretta (rightly so, he's fantastic). They can have comedy and still be a strong team. That is a thing. That was like the entire foundation for DX's existence. Sure it's a different type of comedy with the hugs & freshly squeezed compared to crotch chops, but beyond that. I don't think it was damaging a legit team for a laugh, I think it was establishing that the comedy team is here to play, and don't take them lighly. Trent beat Penta in Dark, and he looked great in that match too. Blade/Butcher I'm curious about. I agree the reaction was dead, but that might not be a terrible thing. Same thing happened with Dark Order, and now they look like geniuses for sticking the course with those two. Blade is Allie's husband, so I have a feeling it's leading up to Allie/Brandi rematch too, with some obvious Kong shenanigans. There was never gonna be a great roar since they are relatively unknown, but can see where it goes. My first thought was the start of new Villain Enterprises, since we all know Scurll is coming shortly. Statlander is freaking amazing. I agree the women's matches can be sloppy at times, but overall I think it has boiled down to the Japanese crew vs. the American crew. Those that wrestle in Japan have timing together, those that wrestle in America have timing together. They haven't quite figured out how to adapt to each other yet. I really enjoyed this match, Statlander looked amazing and saved a major botch when Shida missed her break-up spot. I'm willing to put up with some sloppiness for the sake of developing the women's division. They can't grow if they aren't given the opportunity. I'll take the bumps along the way gladly. I do agree this was the weakest episode of Dynamite, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

yeah don't get me wrong @gardinermitch, I like the overall product and it's a refreshing change of pace from the over-exposure of all the other wrestling we get weekly. I just think there's enough veterans on this roster to sit folks down and tell them to get serious about timing. Over the last few weeks we've seen some referee botches, endless women botches, run-ins are off (SCU seemed a tad delayed), even the triple shattered dreams last night took far too long when they were playing to the crowd, the inner circle guys could have easily unraveled themselves instead of flopping around.
I also think the Lucha Bros do too much of the cero meido taunt...they do it for practically every move set and it creates some bad timing when opponents have to stay in those spots waiting.

Timing is definitely the biggest weakness at the moment, 100% agree on that. I just wonder with the women if a lot of it is due to language barriers and style differences from Japanese vs. American wrestling. Seems to be more timing issues in those cases, but I could be imagining that.

I thought last night's show was really good!
The opening segment was great. Seeing Ted Irvine there and getting heel heat from the Chicago crowd was fantastic!
Best Friends getting the shocking upset over Lucha Bros was just that... shocking!
Pac vs. Omega delivered. Page vs. MJF was great, as was DDP's interference.
The set up for the six man tag next week was good.
Jericho vs. Sky was alright, no complaints.
Not sure why fans didn't like last night's product, it still seemed exciting, the fans at the event were loud and screaming, it was just a fun show last night!

I'm really curious to see how the TSN ratings react to that segment. Chicago definitely knows their hockey so the crowd was good and riled up. Too bad the Rangers are garbage too! (Or I might still be bitter about the '94 final. You can interpret that how you want)

Things I didn't like about the last Dynamite: Cody facing a jobber, the uneventful debut of Blade and Butcher, the weak ending of Page vs MJF, the women's tag, and the fact they say there's a 60 minute time limit for the main event that is happening 15 before 10 pm-when the show ends on the dot!

That last comment may not always hold true. They did say it may run over and be shown on the youtube show, even though that'd be dumb for a main event to do for ratings, but necessary for the match

late to catching up, but I thought the episode had great matches, I love omegas snap tiger suplexes, and I enjoyed Mox appearing at the end.
