He had a great build and was Intercontinental Champion. Could Godfather have been WWF Champion? Obviously the character was light-heated, but maybe they could have done an angle where he was abusing some of the women around him and a babyface could have saved her/them. Make him wealthy and violent, doing whatever it took to win matches. Triple H, Foley, or Rock as the savior would have worked.
What do you think? Could Godfather have been WWF Champion?

No way. That gimmick had a limited shelf life as evidenced by how he had to become the Goodfather.

Yes, if they wanted to destroy the WWF/WWE brand

I dont know if that wouldve worked for Steven Richards though.

Sure he could have been WWE Champion.
Anyone could be WWE Champion as long as Vinnie Mac wants that person to be.

That RTC stable was ridiculous. The guy was better off as Papa Shango, Kama Mustafa or The Godfather. He was known as Soultaker in USWA.

Yeah, nooooo. That's little better then me thinking Rikishi was a WWF Champion because of No Mercy on the N64.

Nope.Just look at his flop IC Title run in 99. Shango>Godfather any day of the week. I agree that under no circumstances could Godfather have been World champion. His run as Intercontinental champ was his peak and even that was very brief. However, I'm sure the Godfather did more for his bank account than Papa Shango. He didn't even need a title. That character was so over. One of those gimmicks that just defined the Attitude Era.

The crazy part about the attitude era is so many people were over and could be placed literally anywhere on the card and it felt normal. I don’t see why he couldn’t have had a very brief championship run if you wanna call it that. One of the greatest parts about the attitude era was how everyone was over without even needing a title

no. they had immense talent to work with in that period, no need to raise a gimmick act. would've bombed worse than rikishi's bad man run.
man this guy needs to stop making threads...

Definitely not. It’s one thing being over at what you do, but that’s a whole different level.
