So this all started with me trying to decide if I want to trek to Big Lots to look for Eric Young's elite figure. I mostly remember him from Impact. I watched him win the Championship back in the day. I decided to do some research, see where he is at now... Which brings me to my question... WTH Happened to Eric Young?!! Go look at his WWE profile... www.wwe.com/superstars/eric-youngWhat happened to the insane, rough and tumble guy? Now he looks like some suburban dad decided to start pro wrestling. I almost can't tell that's him!!

Nothing, the guy was a career comedy act.

He was diagnosed with a bad case of 'Creative doesn't know what to do with him so just have him get some extra cardio in by running after the 24/7 championship and occasionally competing in the odd forgettable 1 off match on Raw'
Poor guy.

He got a generic look to match his jobber status.

They gave him his own stable and it turns out that Nikki Cross was the best one out of the group by miles.

Here's the deal with EY.
In 2018, Vince asked Triple H who from NXT could they use on Smackdown. Triple H told Vince about SAnitY. Vince didn't understand it, because as EY told me, "Vince doesn't watch NXT." Vince had no clue as to who SAnitY was.
Vince saw them on Smackdown and liked them. And was gonna push them hard. If you remember, they had wins over New Day and were heading into a feud with the Usos.
So one night, they brought in bomb sniffing dogs. The dog went up and bit Shinsuke Nakamura on the leg, thus he couldn't wrestle. So Jeff Hardy vs. Shinsuke was cancelled. Vince asked Road Dogg, "who can Jeff wrestle??" and Road Dogg said, "EY, he and Jeff wrestled in Impact."
So that night, SAnitY vs. The Usos was changed to EY vs. Jeff Hardy, with run ins from SAnitY and the Usos, to make it a six man tag match, and SAnitY lost.
After that, Vince got tired of SAnitY and didn't see them as a draw.
However, Triple H likes EY. Loves his mind for the business. So Triple H is slowly moving EY into a backstage/creative member. Vince seems okay with it too, for he likes EY a lot.
That pretty much sums up what Jer (EY) told me last year.

In all honesty, they should have EY be the creative guy behind the 24/7 title stuff, since he's actually pretty good as the comedic shtick guy

I wish they'd move Eric back to NXT and let him and Dane reform/repackage Sanity. They were always my favorite version of the tag team anyhow. Plus it could help beef up NXT's tag team division. And Triple H can help prepare Eric for an agent role from there.
Everyone wins.

Apparently from what EY said, Nakamura was standing around doing nothing, and the police were in the arena with dogs to sniff out things, and the dog walked by Nakamura and bit into his leg and wouldn't let go. It was the most random thing. Nobody understood why the dog did it.
Also, I should say this about SAnitY.
EY told me that SAnitY was never gonna work on the main roster because Vince wanted them to be crazy. But Vince told EY, "don't bite, scratch, choke, claw and do anything like that to you opponents, we have to keep it clean out there for our investors."
So EY goes to me, "now how the hell am I supposed to be crazy in a crazy group if I can't do crazy things?? That was the end of SAnitY."

Probably the #1 reason why WWE is so terrible now.

I personally believe that Sanity would've been more successful on Raw. They were never going to work on a 2 hour Smackdown were talent had to fight for TV time.

Sanity was cool and could’ve worked if Vince got behind it. Of course he didn’t, so it failed.
EY on his own.. I never saw the appeal. He can work. He’s a good wrestler. Sure. Just nothing about him that was ever exciting or interesting to me. Never saw him as a WWE singles guy.

I actually never understood the 'hype' around Eric Young personally. Sanity was an okay stable that could have done more, but they were a group of at-best midcarders. That is the truth, sadly.
