So cool to see Edge back...I hope he reunites with Hawkins and Ryder at some point down the line. I wonder what the likelihood is of seeing Christian back, even just for a one off tag match? E&C vs Dudleys vs Hardys next years wrestlemania

Some post-Rumble news I've read this morning:
- It seems Drew and Charlotte were late decisions to be the victors. Judging by the way bets were levied, it appears plans for them were finalized just a couple weeks ago.
- AJ Styles is feared to have suffered a separated shoulder during the Men's Rumble match. While officials are hopeful for Wrestlemania, there is a chance he will miss this year's event.
- Sasha Banks has been dealing with some ankle injury, explaining why she wasn't in the Women's Rumble match. Others who were originally advertised just seem to have lost their booking due to a shift in plans, including Cain Velasquez.

Edge looked so genuinely happy coming out and was fighting tears. It was such a great moment to see and I'm so happy I was able to see that.

Really mixed feelings about Royal Rumble 2020. The non-Rumble matches were all good. Everyone won who should, all good quality matches. Really liked the ending to Asuka VS Becky. Particularly happy they booked Bayley strong. After her condescending, ignorant tweets on mental health, I don't want to see Lacey Evans win anything. It's no good practising to be a heel on social media when she's supposed to be a face on TV. Not to mention how her character just doesn't work as a face. Plus, after how weak she looked at Survivor Series, Bayley needed to retain clean. As for the Royal Rumble matches...they were both disappointing in terms of booking. I feel like the Women's Royal Rumble match was significantly better than the Men's. Starting with the pros of the Women's RR match, I was pretty happy with the NXT contingent. Was really happy to see Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox in there. Even though I'm not a fan of Naomi, it was heartwarming seeing how many people loved seeing her back. I'm content with Charlotte as the winner. I genuinely don't understand the absolute hatred and vitriol towards her. She's very talented, highly athletic, can cut solid promos, and hasn't really been super-pushed in a good while now. But the most important result for me personally was that Shayna Baszler did not win. That was my biggest worry heading into the show, so I'm really glad to see it didn't happen. As for the cons, Santina. That was a complete joke, wasting a spot on something that was never funny in the first place. And people wonder why certain fans don't take women's wrestling seriously, it's because of craplike this, where WWE just makes a mockery of the whole division, and transgender people. Whoever had the idea to bring Santino back for this deserves to be fired. Poor taste. Obviously Sasha Banks was a glaring omission. Looks like she's either legit injured, or they're using her absences to fuel the story between her and Bayley. Either way, she can't lose if she's not in the match. Pro gamer move. I also fully expected Nia and Ruby to make their returns, so it seemed a bit off. As for the Men's Royal Rumble match....whew, where do I even begin?? It was the highest of highs and the lowest of lows; I think that adequately sums it up. Starting off positively, EDGE!!! ING EDGE!!! Never in a million years did I think we'd ever see him back in the ring. And that monster pop just showed how overjoyed people were to see him back. Really glad that he did so well, and loved the Rated RKO reunion. I felt it was a very strong final four. Really nice surprise to see MVP back too. And DREW MCINTYRE DID IT!!!! After waiting the past couple of years for them to finally pull the trigger on him on the main roster, they finally did it!! On the mixed side of things, I really liked seeing Keith Lee and Matt Riddle in the Rumble, but I didn't like how easily and quickly they were eliminated. I would have loved to have seen Keith Lee win the whole thing. Even though he had a little showing against Lesnar, he still got eliminated in a couple of minutes. Great to see Riddle in there, but it was a complete joke how he was handled. Not even lasting a minute?! And they didn't even have him beat up Brock?! Huge missed opportunity! On the negative side...the first half of the match was ing abysmal. I'm at the point where I don't want to see Brock Lesnar in any capacity anymore, yet they had him job out numerous main event level talent. It's 2020. They should not be relying on Brock anymore. This is why they can't build new stars anymore, because they're obsessed with perpetually pushing Brock to the moon. The likes of Kofi, Morrison, Big E, Mysterio, Cesaro, Nakamura should NOT have been treated as nothing more than fodder for Lesnar. That was next-level bullshit. Now that we have our Royal Rumble winners, I'd really love to see Charlotte choose to face Rhea Ripley for the NXT Championship at WrestleMania. With NXT being treated as a third brand, they should be on the WrestleMania card. Although I wouldn't mind seeing Charlotte VS Becky again, I feel their last matches (as good as they were) are far too recent to revisit that rivalry. As an example, Sasha VS Charlotte in 2016 was a great rivalry, with some really fantastic matches. But at the end of it, everyone was burned out, and it was the right time to end it. Now, after a few years apart, I would personally love to see that rivalry revisited now. Becky VS Charlotte is the exact same thing. I'd love to see it revisited years down the line, but it's far too early for that right now to have the same impact. And of course I don't want to see Charlotte challenge Bayley for the SmackDown Women's Championship, because that would mean we wouldn't get Sasha VS Bayley. As for Drew McIntyre, he's surely got to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship, after their interaction in the Rumble. Hopefully when McIntyre beats him, Brock can stay gone this time (unless they want to get WALTER and Riddle beating Lesnar in singles matches, I'm up for that). I think I'd give Royal Rumble 2020 a 5/10.

I thought the whole show was very good.
Decent brawl between Roman and Corbin. Looked cool in a bigger stadium as well.
Womens rumble was..ok. 1st half was really enjoyable. Bianca Belair looked great. But then once Charlotte got in it went a bit off. Mainly I think due to nobody coming in who you thought 'oh they may win'. Only until Shayna arrived did i think that. Plus charlotte did not need to win. If they want her to have a title match, just put her in one and nobody would be thinking that she isn't credible.
Fiend vs Bryan was good. Nice use of the stipulation and no red light! That already made the match a winner from the start. Hopefully that's it gone now.
Bayley vs Lacey was not much more than a tv match. Crap ending too.
Becky vs Asuka was good but not at the level of last years match. Enjoyed the finish.
Mens rumble was great. Although a couple of the guys fed to Lesnar could have been other wrestlers (Morrison stands out most) his tear through the 1st half was done well and he was eliminated at the right time before it turned the other way. Surprised Drew won but he is fresh and Roman is in the same boat as Charlotte, he doesnt need to win to get a title shot (assuming they're going that way vs Fiend). Edge coming back was awesome! I thought he wasnt going to after working out who was left but obviously Buddy Murphy was binned. Interesting to see who he feuds with.

I actually liked Brock's performance. That massive clothesline was epic. He can be a great worker when he wants to be.
Amazing Rumble. It's top five for me, and I really don't enjoy modern wrestling that much.

Out of interest what happened to Heavy Machinery, Andrade, Rusev and Lashley? I thought they were all confirmed for the match.

The Fiend is champion(everyone wanted), Lesnar was booked entertainingly, amazing return by an all time favorite, Drew McIntyre won the Rumble(everyone wanted).
WWE are starting to get their footing again IMO after the last few ABYSMAL years.

WWE champion Brock Lesnar got into a verbal altercation with NXT superstar Matt Riddle during tonight’s Royal Rumble event. Reports are that Lesnar and Riddle had a tense encounter after passing each other backstage. Sources on-site have claimed that this is not storyline, and that the Beast was scary with his taunts.
Riddle also had that awkward interaction with Goldberg at SummerSlam that was later aired on the WWE network. The King of Bros has been very public about his feelings on Goldberg, and has talked about “retiring” Lesanr many times in the past.
I'd really like to see Lesnar smack the piss out of Riddle.

I enjoyed the show overall. Best matches would have to be Fiend vs Bryan and Asuka vs. Becky. I really enjoyed those matches. Every other match was decent or good.
I only started liking the Men's Royal Rumble when Brock was eliminated. Brock's dominance went on for far too long in my opinion and wasted quite a few entrants, but I guess Drew eliminating him was worth it. That should have happened sooner in my opinion. Edge's return was amazing to witness. I'm very happy Edge is back and healthy. Also MVP's return was wasted.
I enjoyed the Women's Royal Rumble as a whole more, but Charlotte winning was surprising and meh to me. I like Charlotte as a wrestler, but I absolutely don't like her booking a majority of the time. I hope they do something interesting with Charlotte instead of rematches against Bayley or Becky at Wrestlemania. I was also very annoyed at Sasha Banks not being in the match, especially since she was my pick to win.
Overall I'd give the Royal Rumble PPV a 8/10.

I still feel like Shayna should’ve won the Women’s rumble. It could’ve shaken up the main roster ladies divisions and they could’ve capitalized off Shayna going over Becky and Bayley at SS. Can’t help but feel like this was a missed opportunity here

I just watched a recap. As much as I don't like Corbin, I had to laugh when he eliminated Riddle & then did the "hang 10, bro" gesture!

I see some are still upset with how dominant Brock was the first half. But the way I see it is, they wanted people to be upset. They wanted us to think Brock was running the table. That way when Drew did eliminate him, the place would go crazy. And if you re-watch it, they certainly did.
I also saw people saying Drew should have eliminated both Edge & Roman while they were on the apron. I disagree there too. By having Roman take the heat for eliminating Edge, you guaranteed they would cheer Drew for dumping out Roman.
It was all booked to get the crowd behind Drew in one night.
