I've wanted this playset for awhile now but the prices are going up and its getting harder to find complete. Is this set really worth getting? While I like the idea of it to me it still looks too small. I feel I could make a better representation my self of a bigger backstage area. Thoughts? What would be a reasonable price to get this for? Or should I just create my own?

I had this for Christmas 2001, it was the first wrestling playset I had until I got the Real Sounds SmackDown ring and entrance a month later for my birthday. It’s definitely a great thing to have, if I collected Mattel and had an arena set up I’d definitely add this to it. The electronic flushing toilet alone is hilarious to not buy! However you are right about it being small and if you could probably make a better one yourself I’d go with that.

My thoughts are that any backstage sets are worth getting since they aren't made in high numbers these days. This one is no exception. This particular set reminds of the Smackdown game where you could go backstage and even run into a soda machine lol

While I've always wanted this set I'm thinking I will more than likely just make my own. I have pretty much every jakks wwe accessory you could think of. I'd like it a little bigger and could still tie in some of the aesthetic of this set. For $100 I could make a bigger and better set than the retail one :/

Guess I'll be passing on it now.

randomly brought this a year ago, it's real small yes, but it's still a cool little set piece, works well next to the other backstage set they released in like 2007 I think

I got this for Christmas the year it came out and it was awesome. It's small but has a lot of features. I used it for hardcore matches, interviews, etc. Even as an indy, no budget entrance. Probably the best wrestling play set I've owned.

One of the best backstage sets ever. Got it in Christmas 2001 and had so much fun with it.

It was such a fun set. About 6 or 7 years ago I sold mine on eBay for about £15 because I didn't need it anymore. I guess the price has gone up dramatically since?

For 100 no but if you find one under 50 or around the 60 mark depending how much you really would like to have this than yes. I remember always wanting this for the longest and finally got one about 8 years ago. It was missing the soda machine and half of the breakable wall, but with time I finally got them and completed this awesome playset.

I remember a commercial for this airing during raw and the entire AFR forum went crazy because it showed a still shot of the first jakks Chris Benoit figure! We had no info on its release or anything it just popped up and everyone went crazy getting still shots and everything (it was rebellion series 1 Benoit).
I sometimes miss the times before the internet

Even watching this I now recall getting a phone call from my friend so excited “dude they showed Chris Benoit and a new Jeff Hardy figure on raw!!!”

It was a great set, especially for its time and 360 degree display/play/photography possibility. These days, for the money you'd spend on it, you could easily spend that on a custom, bigger diorama, or buy supplies and make your own sick backstage area.

Ahh, yes. Such good times. I would definitely buy this again, if I can find one complete. I don't understand why Mattel doesn't put out play-sets like this. They sure don't make em' like they use to!

I sometimes miss the times before the internet God, AFR. The first forum I ever joined! I miss that board, I actually remember everyone going nuts over this set and when the first posts about people finding Rebellion 1 Benoit. Amazing figure for the time! Ahh, yes. Such good times. I would definitely buy this again, if I can find one complete. I don't understand why Mattel doesn't put out play-sets like this. They sure don't make em' like they use to! I've always just assumed it's because of the de-emphasis on backstage debauchery compared to the era when all these playsets came out. There's a lot of stuff Jakks did that I wish Mattel would do and these kinds of sets along with weapon packs are right up there.

I’d think so. I’ve had mine since it came out and I still display it proudly.
