Any real reason you guys do this and not just have them loose in a bin?

Any real reason you guys do this and not just have them loose in a bin? Easy answer is to avoid paint smears and scuffs running against another loose figure

Also probably is easier to keep accessories organized and with original figure. I have every accessory in a gallon size ziplock all together. Someday it’ll be a pain sorting through

I was under the impression that keeping them in sealed plastic bags was the worst way to store toys? I don't recall when or where this is from, but I've definitely heard/read that before. Anyone else hear that over the years too?

Anyone else hear that over the years too? It depends on the type of bag IIRC. Something about the difference between polypropylene and polyethylene.

Anyone else hear that over the years too? Many of the older figures became sticky to the touch due to no air circulation. Older figs are hard to keep in bags for long periods of time. The plasticizer leaks out and if there is no air to dry it it gets gummy.

Anyone else hear that over the years too? yeah bags like ziploc or cheap versions of those, the acid from the plastic can contribute to ruining an action figure over a long period of time. for long term storage you're best going with those "poly" bags, its just for extra protection and easier storage.

I store them in 6 x 9 of these www.EBAY LINK NOT ALLOWED.uk/itm/Grip-Seal-Clear-Self-Seal-Press-Polythene-Zip-Lock-Plastic-Bags-All-Sizes/171568804035?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=470575922400&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I collect figures MIB except WWE as i just don't have room and sometimes its alot cheaper to finder older figures mint loose and complete.

Last month I picked up 2 bins of loose figures from my mom's house. They were stored for more than 10 years. Some of the figures were stuck together and the paint was messed up. I'm in the process of cleaning them up the best I can, but I wish I would have known about bagging them up to prevent that.

From what I read on the internet, polypropylene and polyethylene are both safe and acid free. Polypropylene costs a little more and looks more clear than polyethylene. Mylar (polyester) is also acid free and is the clearest and most expensive of the three. The bags to stay away from are made from Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). I'm not a chemical expert, it's just something I read when I was looking to buy bags.

for one you need to make sure the climate where the storage is in a cooler place.. anything in heat like attic or with no proper air flow will just about ruin anything. bags are fine but yea prob a mid to upper range kind of bag, sandwich 79c bags wont work for long periods. ive stored figs in bags and in a bin and have had no issues. especially white attire figures..about the easiest to get ruined..

From my experience, storing them without bags can cause the paint to bleed into other figures, and there's no way to remove it. Luckily the time it did happen it only stained an arm which was replaceable.

I’ve used target freezer bags but after reading this I’m thinking of switching bags bc I have no idea what they’re made of

Purely to avoid them getting paint rubs and getting dusty. Plus, I can keep all their accessories in the bags with them.
