First off, I'm not hating...this is just my observation...
I'm sorry but I've been watching AEW, and Cody Rhodes is not this headliner, main event, top guy that they (himself and whoever else is booking, as well as fans) portray/treat him as. He's a upper mid carder at best (due to lack of top star power in AEW) who is serviceable in the ring, but is just missing something. I get the gimmick, it just doesn't work with him, at least to me. The trashing of the Triple H chair was laughable, as if they were or are equals.
I've seen them all since the national expansion, stars on top of stars- from the muscle guys like Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, to the technicians like Bret Hart, Horsemen, Bulldogs, HBK, to the top guys during the Attitude era like Undertaker, Stone Cold, Rock, and could go on and on. Cody wouldn't be credible to headline a SNME, PPV, hell a B-town house show with any of them and move tickets. Hell Dustin/Goldust, at 50, is more of a complete package than Cody.
But what do I know?
