Apologies if this has already been discussed. This is something that has been around for a bit but I just found out about the other day. I tried searching to see if it has been discussed before but didn't see it. I read a story on another website about how there is a Retro WWE proposal on LEGO Ideas, where people submit their ideas for future LEGO sets. Not sure how it works on the licensing end but guessing if there is enough support, they get ground as i know there was a set released not too long ago for the TV show FRIENDS released through the LEGO Ideas label. Currently it looks like there are over 1100 supporters, I just signed up an account in hopes my lending of support gets this set made. Knowing the prices on LEGO it would be pricey but I would likely put in a pre-order: ideas.lego.com/projects/4a705350-892c-4525-b140-c33e468c3b87

So what kind of sets would you want Lego to make? Wrestling is quite limited to arena with ring. Backstage areas? Piper’s pit? Heartbreak Hotel? Boiler room brawl? Benoit’s weights room?

I'm not a LEGO guy, I just thought this potential project was cool and thought I would share. I would probably get this and would assume it is a one-off. As I mentioned in my initial post, they did a set for Friends of the coffee shop. Even though that has seemed to sell well because I have seen it sold out on multiple websites, I don't think it is likely they are making more sets.
If you look at the link, this set has three areas - ring/arena area, backstage TV production and interview space and a locker room area. Probably will be an expensive set but all inclusive with a handful of legends included.
Just thought it was a nice piece that some people, even people who aren't into Legos may enjoy and get behind, not rallying to create an entire line.

I'm honestly more shocked that WWE isn't already in the market with LEGO after StackDown stopped.

Lego are one of Mattels biggest competitors.
Mattel holds the global master toy license for WWE so it's a contractual thing that would prevent Lego licensing WWE.

I disagree - there's nothing preventing WWE having multiple licensing agreements for different products Funkos are more related to mattel doing figures than Lego. No conflict at all.

Mattel and Lego are completely different and not in direct competition Mattel and hasbro are in direct competition, producing the same type of toy, Lego specifically create a single type of toy which doesn't compete with mattel. That's like saying a car manufacturer is in competition with a motorcycle competitor. Both methods of transport but very different. What mattel and Lego produce both toys, both very different what backs this up further is mattel have the dc license yet you still have Lego dc. How is that possible if they are in direct competition? As you said..."this one isn't hard to figure out" :-)

Lego could make some really great WWE sets I have no doubts about that...if they made retro WWE Legos I would def buy some in a heartbeat.

Mattel also didn't have the master toy license for DC like they do with WWE.

This is awesome. Would absolutely buy this if it gets made. I have the Ecto-1 and the Stranger Things house from Ideas. I think it's such a cool concept. I've been meaning to pickup the Friends set, as well.
WWE lets Loyal Subjects, Kid Robot, Funko, and Eaglemoss all make products for them. Not sure why Mattel would impede on Lego all of a sudden. But let's see if the thing gets backed first. We have Elites of all of those guys. So I'm assuming that works as far as Legends deals go. Very cool.

Mattel also didn't have the master toy license for DC like they do with WWE. Mattel had the license while Lego produced it. There's 100s of companies putting out WWE products: From the stretch wrestlers in the uk, to loyal subjects, funko, kid robot, WCT...we had the figarts figures while mattel had the license. Mattel is nothing to do with it, much more likely WWE's decision. Mattel having a "master" license would put a stop to figures as that is the exact product mattel are putting out and would be direct competition more do than Lego Someone would not settle for an Austin Lego figure over mattel, but may decide to get a figarts austin instead of mattel since they're both action figures. Ultimately WWE has the say over mattel, Steve's even made that clear as WWE has final say over who can or can't be made

Sounds like a great idea, but what would the Championship Title Belts look like??

Sounds like a great idea, but what would the Championship Title Belts look like?? Probably like little pinkie rings that snap on. Or worst case, the whole paint app deal around the waist and just swap out the torsos to change the titles. lol

Based on those pictures, those are AWESOME. Wrestling figures & Lego were my top 2 toys as a kid, I would have eaten these up in the 90s as a kid!!
