I've been collecting wrestling figures since 1984, starting with WWf LJN. I've always been a collector who tries to collect at least one figure of everyone. I have missed out on some figures along the way (LJN Warlord, Bossman, Haku and many of Mattel's recent store exclusives: Liv, Ohno, Brisco, Paige, Sherri, Muraco, etc). I also always try to get the best version of each wrestler also, and I definitely prefer Elites over Basics, especially how basics are nowadays. And I don't have money to buy multiples of the same wrestler, so when I buy a figure, I hope it ends up being the best or my favorite version (which most of the time it isn't). When Mattel releases a First Time To The Line figure in basic form, I am at a crossroads. Wrestlers like Drake Maverick, Singh Bros, Ariya Daivari, Tony Nese, Sarah Logan & Drew Gulak probably may not get Elite versions, so I felt safe buying those. But when I see a basic figure like Bianca Belair, which looks great, what should I do? Should I grab that or should I be patient and wait for an Elite? She seems like she's going to be a big part of the future. The people like me who collect one of each wrestler, what do you guys do in these situations? Thanks

I am holding out on Elite versions of Keith Lee & Matt Riddle as well as Belair

Personally, I would get Bianca's basic now and look forward to an (easily obtainable) upgrade later. Even with Belair's importance, I just don't feel as comfortable passing on her figure as I do male talent like Riddle or Lee. That's just me though.

Buy one if you can find her at retail. It's only 10 bucks. As long as you don't hoard tons of her in hopes of profiting later as she will likely get an Elite and no one will care about her Basic anymore. Not saying you do this, but others clearly do!

I don't collect one of everyone, but I also have no qualms about adding basics to my collection. There have been some figures (The Ascension, Sid Justice) where I actually preferred the basic to the Elites. If I like the basic, I buy it, and can always upgrade to an Elite later. Someone like Bianca should be under contract for years and is obviously getting a strong push. I'm not crazy about the black gear, so I'll probably pass. On the flip side I really like the baby blue Keith Lee, and will pick it up. It's all case by case depending on how much I like their attire.

I’ll probably buy Keith lee’s basic for now and then upgrade once the elite comes out.

I'd probably wait for an Elite for Bianca, she is absolutely getting one.

I'm the opposite. I'll grab the Elite if it comes out first and then switch to the Basic later.

I have no self control so I always buy a First Time in Line. Most of those guys like Nese or Maverick probably won’t have an elite so I’m comfortable buying them.

Unless I think the elite will be a better attire or better accesories I usually just accept the basic. Its alot easier to accept the womens basics since the articulation is good.

That series is popping up there in my area.

I see a ton of B102 but never Drake and rarely Corbin Basic 102 short packed both Maverick and Corbin from what I saw. Came across a few cases and each only had 1 Maverick and 1 Corbin. I have an extra Maverick chase if your looking for one. For original topic I just go with I'll grab the figure if I like it. Ali I had the elite but liked the color scheme on basic chase so I got it. Lee and riddle will get both basic and elite. Belair I normally would pass but that's a great looking figure so I'll grab one if I come across it.

I used to buy whatever came first. Now I wait for Elite or don't get them at all. If Matt Riddle, Keith Lee and Drake Maverick basics came out about 4/5 years ago, I'd have definitely bought them. Its different with women wrestlers - Basics are just fine.

I just hate the basics since they changed the arm articulation & took away the ankle articulation....except the women, their basics are fine IMO
