I can't see the figures being more than $18-20 if they want to get shelf space at retail. AEW is still a relatively unknown brand, so they'll probably try to undercut Elite prices.

I know it’s unpopular opinion, but I’d love to get hasbro retro style figs. Kick off the series with:
Moxley Jericho Sammy Guevara (Rick Rude mold lol) Kenny Omega Orange Cassidy Darby Allin Cody Hangman Page Young Bucks MJF Dustin Rhodes

One thing for sure is they aren’t going to be in scale with Mattel’s figures. Because just like when Mattel took over the WWE line they wanted people to buy their versions of wrestlers who already had Jakks figures. And the easiest way to do that is to make them a different scale. So Jazwares are going to be the same way with their line and wrestlers who have Mattel figures already. Kinda feels like the opposite of what you're saying if the sentiment of this thread and my my twitter feed are to be believed. If Jazwares wants people to buy their figures it would be best to make them the same scale as pretty much evey other wrestling figure on the market now. Mattel was trying to make people forget Jakks who was a smaller product with a weaker brand. If AEW were a stronger brand then Jazwares would benefit from making them in a different scale. They are best piggybacking at this point instead of trying to make people choose because they will lose. I disagree they are going to want their to stand apart and have the consumers to be all in with their figures not piggyback them off another companies. Especially when they know there will be more WWE wrestlers who will sign with AEW in the future.

There’s like 6 people on the AEW roster who have Mattel figures and none of them look like they did in WWE except Pac looks kinda the same. It’s not an issue for them like it was TNA Jakks. Either they’re highly detailed and in scale with WWE & TNA ToyBiz or I’m not interested. And I’m not the only one who feels this way judging by this thread.

I'll buy them regardless tbh. I'd kill to have guys like jurrassic express, Santana & Ortiz, Dark Order, etc

As cool as it would be to have an All Elite line, they might also need a more affordable/less articulated line to get shelf space in mass retail.

Jakks WWE and Mattel are the same scale. Jakks were just unrealistic. Jazwares would alienate most of their potential customers if they dont make these in the same scale as Mattel. I would definitely not be interested if they aren't the same.

I've been a vocal AEW fan from day 1. But if these don't come in at least reasonably close to scale with Mattel I don't see myself buying.

I think a lot of the "nobody are going to buy these unless they're scaled to the WWE line" people in this thread forget (or weren't around) when people said the same thing about Toybiz TNA and that line did really well. Granted, those things weren't even in scale with each other, but people swore that line would die if Toybiz didn't make their figures in scale with Jakks RA and that wasn't the case at all.
I think what a lot of us really mean is "I'm not going to be as interested if they don't make these the same scale as my WWE figures since Super7 and Boss Fight are already committed to doing it". I'm sure Jeremy is aware of it and I'm sure he's gonna do his best to do right by the collectors like he pretty much always has.

Either they’re highly detailed and in scale with WWE & TNA ToyBiz or I’m not interested. And I’m not the only one who feels this way judging by this thread. And that means nothing to companies. Most companies want theirs to be different and stand alone. Look at DC Comic. Kenner/Hasbro made 4” or 5” figures. Mattel came in 2003 and made a taller 6” scale as their core line. DCD/DCC came in and made larger figures for years then after like 15 years they did a 6” scale with Icons, but their 6” was smaller than Mattel’s 6” and none where in scale with Hasbro’s ML which is something the fans have been complaining about since day . Now McFarlane and Spin Master have the license and know what the fans have been begging for and McFarlane comes out with a 7” line and Spin Masted a 3.75” - 4” line. McFarlane’s reason for the scale when asked why they weren’t in scale with past lines or ML was he wants his figures bigger so they look like they could beat up every other figure in the aisle. So just because fans want the same scale as elites doesn’t mean they will be. They could easily go smaller so they could make more cost effective playset or they could go larger to make their figures look superior. And most of the time companies go a different scale than what was previously on the market.

Something to also consider regarding the scale argument is that most toys are released in the 6-7" scale now. If they're not 100% compatible, they're likely going to be close. It's not the mid 2000s anymore, if you take a stroll through a toy section you're not going to find as wide a variety of sizes as you used to. Everything's pretty homogenized. I wouldn't worry too much.
I also really want them to also do a 4" line. I've always loved that scale and the Build N Brawl figures are probably my favorite Jakks figures.

even if they are not 100% in scale I will still be buying them all. Toybiz TNA figs go great with mattels IMO. I'm not as picky as others. As long as they are somewhat close and look relatively realistic

Heard from a reasonably reliable source that Jeremy will be overseeing the line. He might look to do a Legends spinoff line and sign wrestlers directly with no middleman if the main AEW line takes off.

There's a chance he shoehorns in some Legends into the AEW line like he did with the Jakks TNA line towards the end. I mean, they do have several guys under deals (Arn, Tully, Dustin, Jerry Lynn) and other guys who've worked with them (Austin Idol, Glacier) who they could probably put out.

Assuming the line does well, there are definitely some cool possibilities if they wanted to include legends. Earl Hebner, Billy Gunn, JR, Schiavone, Taz. They could probably even do Kong (though her look hasn't really changed) or some early career Jericho looks depending on the legality. Obviously the early focus is on building exposure for your brand and active wrestlers. But there's definitely money to be made. Have to walk before you can run, but Jeremy has a track record of thinking outside the box. And AEW seems pretty willing to the same, and they've found some great ways to honor wrestling legends in the short time they've been on tv.
