I'm very interested in this. Lots of good memories from the RA era.

I loved Benoit. But I have no issues with WWE not acknowledging him. General history acknowledges every bad person that has existed. Scott Hall killed a man and so did Jimmy Snuka yet they still get talked about. Kind of weird but at the end of the day it’s their decision

Not in a positive light which you’d have to do with Benoit for this docuseries if they did include him 2. Halls was in self defense, and technically Snukas was never 100% proven

Finally a new docu-series that may be just as good as The Monday Night Wars! Premieres Sunday 16th February on the WWE Network. Hey! That’s my birthday!

This looks great. I don't particularly care for the RA era after 2004ish or so, honestly. 06 and 07 were WWE's worst years ever imo. That said, I'm super excited to see people talk about the influx of WCW and ECW guys, particularly Heyman, and the arrival of Cena/Brock/Orton. I thought Benoit was an amazing performer but I don't think you need to tell his story to tell the story of the RA era. I'd argue Benoit was as, if not more, important to the MNW as he was the RA period. The one caveat being WrestleMania 20, which does a disservice to Eddie and the incredible match HHH and HBK had with him on that night.
I mean history is written by the victors. So I expect to see plenty of that on this one but it looks like they're going to get into the idea that Vince buying WCW was a mistake, and how he didn't know what to do with all of these characters that had credibility in other places that he outright ignored. What a weird time, especially in retrospect when you look at guys like Adam Cole and AJ Styles who are even bigger stars because WWE let their resumes count. Lots of failed experiments during this time period because of that mentality.

I might watch this but I won't be in a rush. The RA era is my least favorite. Hopefully the series won't be as slow, plodding and bland as the era was.
I think WWE has been doing a good job of barely celebrating this era since it's ended. Moments and storylines and wrestlers from the era are often mentioned, rarely is the era itself mentioned outside of recapping Cena saying it to Angle.
Could make for some good unheard stories at least. Could also make for a series about Triple H.

Is this going to be in the form of episodes? If so that Randy Orton episode is going to be insane! Ruthless Aggression era is my the best era in the history of wrestling, it’s the era that I grew up watching.

still remember Vince declaring that he wants Ruthless Aggression on Smackdown to kick it off. But...it started on the Raw the night after KOTR 2002 in Cleveland. I was there in person to see it happen...

It’s an interesting one. The internet was just as negative about wrestling then as it is now, but there’s a generation that grew up on it and were too young for the “sToP pUsHiNg CeNa PuSh A cRuIsEr InStEaD” stuff who have untainted memories of it. In eighteen years, they’ll be making documentaries about this era too. But it’s mostly interesting in that I don’t think there was ever an onscreen shift out of the RA era. There’s no modern equivalent of Vince’s ruthless aggression promo. It’s just the same today as it was then but with new wrestlers.

Here's the schedule...
Episode 1 – It’s Time To Shake Things Up Available Sunday, Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. ET As The Monday Night War comes to a close, WWE reckons with the challenges that arise from its acquisition of WCW and the departure of established Superstars like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and The Rock, as well as makes the bold decision to split its roster between two brands.
Episode 2 – Enter John Cena Available Monday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. ET A new, if polarizing, Superstar emerges in the form of John Cena. After enjoying initial success, Cena struggles to find himself as a performer and realizes he’s on the brink of being fired — that is, until his adoption of new persona launches him to new heights.
Episode 3 – Evolution Available Monday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. ET No faction ruled the Ruthless Aggression Era more than Evolution, the dominant union of Triple H, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, Randy Orton and Batista. Find out what brought the four legends together and, for the first time ever, learn about the obstacles that threatened to derail Evolution from the start.
Episode 4 – The Next Big Thing Available Monday, March 2 at 10 a.m. ET Follow Brock Lesnar’s meteoric rise in WWE and get the full story behind his controversial and headline-making decision to abruptly leave in 2004 — at arguably the pinnacle of his young career — to pursue endeavors outside sports-entertainment.
Episode 5 – Civil War: Raw vs. SmackDown Available Monday, March 9 at 10 a.m. ET Go in depth on WWE’s groundbreaking decision to split its roster between two brands, Raw and SmackDown, from the myriad behind-the-scenes challenges, to the intense competition that erupted between the brands and their Superstars.

I believe the term was coined by Vince though on that Smackdown episode. Well, it was coined at the beginning of the episode when he had all of the roster in the ring with him in the middle...the NWO music hit and they didn't come out and he said something to the effect that the NWO were gone and he had fired them, and that things were changing and he wanted to see something more, something he called "RUTHLESS AGGRESSION" I think when he initially uttered it he was referring to what Brock was doing to people at the time as he had the night before won the King Of The Ring tourney. It's been 18 years almost and my mind's a bit spotty about the exact details but that's a summary of what I remember happening in the announcement.

I was watching more Smackdown at the time.

Unpopular opinion:
RA era was far superior than attitude era. In ring, talent, & storytelling. You take Rock and Austin out of the attitude era and you have a bunch of midcarders at best. 2002-2007 you had plethora of talent that could be plugged in the main event scene at any time and the rosters were so deep.
