I’ve always wondered just how fussy Mint On Card collectors are with the condition of a figure’s box. So this question goes out to all MOC Collectors. To what degree do you think a figure is no longer Mint On Card?... over one crease on the packaging?.... a lot of creases? Or one dent?... a lot of dents?.... look forward to all your answers

Personally Imo....I don’t mind if the box has a crease or two or if it has a few small dents in the plastic as long as it’s not completely smashed or cut through with a box cutter or something like that...If the figure itself has nothing wrong with it I still consider it Moc since it’s actually about the figure & not really the box

For me it's how the figure displays, basically any extensive damage in front would be worse than in the back. Creases in basic carding is ugly but its often hard to find them in good shape.

The minty-er the better for me... as a 20+ year MOC collector, I have had to accept that boxes are going to have some issues. I can handle some shelf wear etc, it’s part of the game. But I’ll be honest, I have passed on MOC figures due to box condition. On a related note, it took me 3 times to a get a Balor EG AND 2 times for Goldberg EG before I was happy. Something about the hard plastic, they just kept on breaking during shipping, maybe RSC poor attempts at packing had something to do with it. 🤷♂️
I will also say, I think we are heading towards 3 different types of collectors now, loose, MOC and graded. I have some graded hasbro’s and condition is everything with Hasbro... Mattel might be the same 20-30 years...

I have had instances where I found a particular figure I’d been looking for in the store but passed on buying it because the package was in such terrible condition....Good things come to those who wait & would I always find it again in great condition within a few days ....Being a Moc collector I don’t mind small imperfections but when a box looks like it’s been stomped I have to draw the line somewhere

For me, it doesn't have to be totally perfect, but if we're talking rips or dents or cracked plastic then that's too much. I recently passed on the Royal Rumble Lita because the one side of the box had a decent rip in it. Doubt I'll be seeing that in a store again, but I wasn't dead-set on getting it.

I use to not care so much as long as the figure was new (NIB) until I met another collector in the area and rubbed off on me. He was hardcore about the card haha now I try to get it in the best condition possible but not so serious to where I pass on a figure because the card is damaged.
When it is in the perfect condition like it just came out of a fresh case, it looks so purdy lmao

I open up all my wrestling figures. However, I do have one or two other humble collections going where I keep stuff boxed. I do try and keep them in relatively good nick, but if anything I feel like a bit of light wear and tear gives the box some character, a slightly vintage feel if you weeyll

I'm trying not to be so fussy these days... as long as the whole thing (package) looks "decent", then that's ok. If it has any major creases or dents though, I try and get/look for another one.

Pretty fussy. They are cardboard box collectors after all.

How fussy? Google Hasbro's Haslab Star Wars Jabba's Sail Barge. What a debacle.

I'm pretty fussy dont like any creases knocks or bends on the box at all. Depends how hard the figure is to get in general though as I become less fussy for things that are harder to get.

Very! I’ve left great figs on pegs because the box wasn’t up to my standards. Before I purchase any MOC fig on eBay I ask a ton of questions. Any damage,do you ship in boxes or padded envelopes,etc....

A crease or two is fine, nothing is perfect anymore so I don't expect it!! As long as it's not an opener

I once traded a figure because one piece of tape on the box was wonky. A few months later I then opened up all my figures and became a loose collector. A few months after that I sold everything and stopped collecting. That sounds exactly like my story.

Im pretty picky when it comes to the box. Eventually Ill open everything and display them but until then I fish through the boxes to find the best one.

Depends on rarity and the issues. I recently got a Marvel TNA Christian that has a dent in the plastic but it's not noticable on display so I'll live. But if it's just a regular elite I want then I'll hold out till I get a good condition box.
I'm more fussy about how the box looks as a whole tbh. There has been waves of elites of figures I wanted but the box design looked bad so I didnt get them. The box is part of the art to me, I have absolutely bought figures based off the look of the box even if the figure inside isnt of particular interest to me.

It’s definitely slightly less of an issue for older figures that I don’t have due to not yet collecting. Got a couple Orton and Punk’s with just like wear and tear or small creases, so it’s like yeah I’ll take an overall good condition over not getting it when I have the chance.

I wish I could be more picky... Now I have to be lucky just to get my hands on a figure I like
