I collect because I always have. I started with my first 2 figures being hasbro and then Jakks took over and I got really started/into those. I just kept it going and then once I was able to drive I loved going store to store hunting for stuff. Now I only collect Legends/Flasbacks because I don’t really care for the product of today and want to limit my collecting some. I’ve slowed down at times and stopped buying at certain points but I always go back.

I’m 42. I got into collecting in 2009 with G.I. Joe, when Rise of Cobra came out. I branched out into DCUC, MOTUC, Transformers and then WWE Legends when I could no longer avoid that sweet, sweet Iron Sheik. I’m actually not a huge fan of wrestling — I grew up with Rock n Wrestling — but Mattel makes great figures and I like the Rusev, so that kind of resulted in me following the whole line up to about 2016. I mostly collect vintage ‘80s stuff now and am done collecting WWE aside from occasional Legends.

I'm in the 36-40 range. I don't play with my figures or keep them MOC. I collect my figures to display them in poses on my blog and Facebook page ... shameless plug - see links to both in my signature .

I’m 47 and have been collecting since 1984 with WWF LJNs. I try to collect at least one of each figure for every federation. Safe to say, I’m missing items over the years. I buy them and open them and put them in plastic tubs. My wife won’t let me display them. I always enjoyed playing with them in my childhood and last week. Much money has been spent. It keeps me away from alcohol, smoking, drugs and adult videos.

I'm 45. I had LJNs and Remcos as a kid. Been a wrestling fan my whole life, but never really collected anything. A year or so ago I stumbled upon Ryder & Hawkins' "Figure it Out" on Youtube. From there started watching the Major Pod videos as well. I always knew toy collecting was a thing, but never knew the scope of it.
Then heard my new favorite wrestler had their first ever figure coming out and decided I needed to get one. Then it was a chase version, so now I need both. Then basic versions, including another chase. Got them all ordered, and now I have to wait for another release to come out. I see how this is going to play out.
New figure available. Can;t find it in my area. Wait for price on eBay to become reasonable. Order it. Think collection will soon be complete. Discover another one is being released. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
No real interest in other figures right now. I just want my little niche collection. Of course, card subject to change.

36. I started watching wrestling in the late 80's/early 90's with my Dad we mostly watched WCW ,I remember getting the Hasbros and Galoobs but after I quit watching I sold all my figures. Around the time I quit watching my nephew started so I was getting him figures but never thought about getting any myself. I started getting into watching and buying figures again when I first bought my nephew the Elite 41 Balor figure and now when I pick up a Flashback I think of times watching wrestling with my Dad and when I get a current person it something I can do with my nephew.

I started collecting in the 80s, and nonstop until 2007. At that point, I couldn't afford college, living on my own, and my hobby, so I stopped collecting. I fully anticipated picking it up again, I just didn't know when.
Fast forward to a year ago, I got bit by the Retro bug, and in the last month I've slowly made my way into Elites. My wife is supportive of my hobby, as long as I don't get out of control. I have a man cave, and will eventually display my collection.

I'm 33. My playing style is simply posing and putting on my shelf which is still playing, just not making stories or crashing figures into each other. I feel perhaps too self conscious to do that. I do like the look of a busy display so I collect a lot of different scales and styles to represent what I love and be visually interesting. My rooms had always been cluttered as a child and curating clutter is an art. In fact, toys are art too, and I love to draw so everything connects back to art for me.

Became a huge Mustafa Ali fan during the CWC. Learned his backstory and watched him light up 205 live and became probably his biggest fan. Wish he would get used more on Friday nights.

I'm 22, turning 23 in a few weeks. Grew up in Connecticut in a wrestling household playing with my older brother's BCA and eventual TTL figures. I used to set up pillows to make it my own HIAC match with my fig feds(good times).
Collecting figures has always been a thing of mine that has never died but just changed genres over the years. Wrestling has been the only constant thing in my life though, and I became "the wrestling" and "the action figure" guy in my friend circles.

43, pick and choose which guys I buy, and it's still a lot. Psycho completist. Don't play, don't even display currently, haven't since 2011. One day I will have enough space. Serious, got problems. But it keeps me out of gangs

32.
First started collecting figs in 2000 and was hooked for a good 4 years then fell away once I hit 16 basically. I stopped watching the product from 2004 till around 2012. An old school friend got in touch and asked if I wanted to go to his to watch wm28. After that I started to keep upto date with it but I dont watch regularly or anything (current product is god awful) I then got back into collecting and I used to be on this forum way back in 2001 looking at figs from toy fair lol.
I missed around 3 years of mattels work but I have over 300 now. I mainly just make customs of attitude era guys and a few current day guys as well.
I feel like this forum could be alot better than what it is, an easier way to post pics would be a start.

I’ve been a fan all of my life. I got into Mattel mainly because all of the Legends line were clearanced to $5. I remember seeing series 1 on the shelf and really wanted to Road Warriors but never pulled the trigger. I didn’t want to start going down that rabbit hole. Fast forward a few months and I couldn’t pass em up when they were only $5 each. I tried to set rules. Only get the guys I was a true fan of. Only need 1 of each guy. Little by little every rule I made was eventually broken.

She worries about the cost though so she gets just as excited as I do when I make a good trade and avoid spending money.
