Here's the report.
I know he's 45 or so now but still think this is a great addition to AEW.He's in the best shape he's been in years now and has pretty much had this last year to rest up as he was barley be used in WWE.I hope when he debuts he changes up his character again instead of going back to the "Broken" gimmick. He's also should be a great addition in terms of a veteran to help out the young talent in terms of in ring work and laying out matches.Never a bad idea to add a creative mind like his to your company and a guy that can still go in the ring.

Big addition. He's a guy who, like Jericho, has continually reinvented himself and managed to stay relevant well beyond the point that he has any right to. Hopefully some of the younger talent can learn from that and continue to grow/evolve their characters.
It should be fun to see how he's used, and what he can come up with. As disappointing as the Hardys WWE run way, the Mania moment made me feel like a kid again. But realistically WWE was never going to expand their creative enough to tap the full potential there. I wouldn't be shocked to see Jeff follow Matt in a few months.
I am beyond annoyed that Mattel yet again dropped the ball on making the iconic Hardyz look.

Ya their return run in WWE these last three years or so was a pretty big let down.Glad like you stated they had one more memorable moment with their return at WM 33 but besides that you basically had the House of Hardy complex fight between Matt & Bray and Jeff's hell in the cell match with Orton as the only other highlights or anything worth talking about.Didn't like how WWE was so focused on them being a tag team together again and the WWE only viewing them and short term tag team champions to put over other teams. Both still had a lot left in the tank and would have been better used as solo acts.Guess didn't help Jeff got hurt twice missing a ton of time and his drug issue returning again.
Hope to see Jeff make the jump to AEW at somepoint this year and teaming with Matt again(I know just said both should be pushed as singles stars but this would be more short term) to see matches against the Lucha Bro,Young Bucks & LAX.

Agreed. AEW has made it clear that tag wrestling is a major part of their product, and as important as singles matches. There are some really cool dream matches to be had, especially with the possibility of The Revival jumping over around the same time Jeff's contract would be up. And between the lighter schedule and wrestling as a tag, that might be able to squeeze one more run of memorable matches into their career. Tag wrestling just feels like background noise and filler in WWE. But I'll be interested to see how Matt fits in initially. The Dark Order is the obvious fit, but it seems like sometimes they like to throw a curveball when things seem too obvious.

he wouldn’t be my first or even second choice, but if he can do something fresh and new with himself as he’s proven he’s capable, I’m down.

Dustin and Jake have proven to me I should never count anyone out. I'm not exactly going to pop for this reveal if it happens, but for AEW's track record with this sort of thing in their short history, hell I'll give it a shot.

I desperately want matt to be the exalted one, his dark gimmick with bray would transition perfectly into a leader of a cult. He could be the force driving the dark order and make them instantly credible and relevant. People flipping through channels seeing matt hardy might stop to watch and say "whats this?" if they haven't heard of AEW yet. This is like right place, right time opportunity for matt. He doesn't need money, still loves wrestling, is immensely creative and wants to be around his family more. That is AEW summed up right there, creative freedom, lighter schedule, a great and soon to be very popular wrestling company and tony can still give him a decent pay check, probably more than the rest (ROH, TNA, Indies, etc.). Since he wants creative control it would be stupid for him to go back to NXT or WWE. They've had him for 3 years now and what have they done with him? Nothing much. His recent video and tony's comments after revolution might just be another trolling gimmick. I really hope he debuts on wednesday as our beloved exalted one.
Side note, if he was to come in as the dark order leader they could start feuding with teams and possibly be one of the teams in war games cage match on march 25!

I think he's super valuable to AEW. Not as much as an on-air talent but for his creative mind. Matt seems to have one good idea after another. Between gimmicks, and storytelling, and his ability to tap into something that fans in 2020 can connect with, he's a great addition. AEW seems to love guys/gals who wear multiple hats and Matt absolutely fits this bill. It's almost a wrestling think tank over there from what I've gathered.
I definitely don't think he's the exalted one, but he, along with Daniels, makes for a great red herring since he's crossing over.
No matches I really need to see from Matt. I'd absolutely watch Hardyz vs Bucks one more time, as I was at Supercard XI, but that's kind of it. I'm honestly more inclined to want to see the return of Big Money Matt, more so than Broken Matt since we saw that run kind of end in WWE.

It's not official until it's announced or he's on AEW tv. If you watch that video, I'm more convinced he's trying to get a better WWE deal than he is heading to AEW.
He's playing companies against each other (which is totally ok), not really AEW bound.

After watching his latest video I couldn't believe how much respect he has for WWE considering how misused he was for so many years... It seems like he really doesn't know where he wants to go and he must get off on teasing. If matt isn't the exalted one I really hope the fallen angel isn't. Maybe raven would come in if matt decides he doesn't want to do it. I think they are building this up way too much without concrete plans and in turn will turn out horribly... The real exalted one...

I still don't buy he's coming to AEW. I really need to actually see the announcement that he has signed. Matt loves playing games with the dirtsheet reporters and online community so I don't believe anything yet. But I do want him in AEW. I think creatively he is a big signing for them.

I agree, I think he’s shine in AEW and still has a lot to offer.

Matt isn't the only person selling his free agency up. There was that AEW tweet posted right after Matt's contract expired about the Exalted One being near. And apparently on the latest BtE episode, the Bucks played up a call they received and were making plans to head to NC, which some jumped to believe this is connected to the ending of Matt's video.

I'm thinking more and more that he's not the Exalted One, but he'll be on the roster.
Guess we'll find out...
