They're putting contingency plans in place if "it's cancelled by government officials, civil authorities and/or local venues." They didn't mention that they were making contingency plans in case THEY decide to cancel it. Doesn't sound like they have any intention to change their plans. Which is funny because they go on to say that the safety of the performers and employees and fans are their top priority.
Holding an event where 10's of thousands of people will be in close proximity to another sounds kind of like the opposite of that.

Mania is still on for now ppl, the city of Tampa is still letting them go on with it, BUT they r gonna go by a week to week with them and for Vince to make a final decision within the next weekIf Vince has the final word, Mania's going ahead. He's not letting some little bacteria go over. He's Vince McMahon goddammit, he'll squash that microscopic midget! Lol I'm guessing you're never taken a biology class? A virus and bacteria are completely different things...

I think it will be cancelled, but Vince is waiting for Tampa to do it. I bet if Vince stops it himself, they don't get money, but if Tampa cancels it, there's some sort of insurance benefit. I think this is the case too. This is what's going on with a ton of music festivals also.

And probably the reverse too - if WWE cancels it, Tampa May get back the money they bid for it and potential damages based on projected income to the area. Although I’d like to think a pandemic overrides that stuff.

Wrestlemania is definitely getting cancelled. It’s a game of chicken between Tampa & Vince as far as who makes it official.

I'm not implying WWE (Vince) is contemplating it. Tampa officials clearly don't wanna be the ones to pull the plug, but WWE has made it known that as of now, they are only pulling shows if venues or cities say so first.

It's bogus that the City didn't make a clear decision. To be fairrrr, they said they'll revisit it next week. Unless he's shut down by the city, the stadium, or the government Vince isn't going to shut down.

I also agree that WrestleMania is for sure canceled at this point.
I am shocked by how long this is taking on both sides to make the subject official.
I saw a tweet from Rovert on Twitter, who has been very credible in my experience, that a lot of WWE talent are being told WrestleMania will take place on June 7th, and WWE will be announcing that very soon. Take it how you want, but I usually trust Rovert as a pretty good source.

Why do people keep saying WrestleMania will be cancelled? The word “cancelled” implies it’s not going to happen ever. WrestleMania is definitely going to happen at some point, but probably not when it’s supposed to happen

I just saw something that supposedly the Florida governor has placed a 30 day ban on major events, with WrestleMania scheduled to go on in 24 days. This should be interesting.

Watch it be rescheduled for late May and WWE having a FIELD day utilizing MAY in the advertising “For the first and possibly only time in its great history Wrestlemania will be taking place in MAY on May 31 in Tampa Florida! Join us as we put the MAY in Mania! IT’S WRESLEMAYNIA guys! I can’t wait! “ They have more time for buildup and I imagine Tampa will be willing to work with them with everything.

I'm tired of all this Coronavirus crap. Plenty of people die every year from the flu. It's is the same thing, just a new name. You better keep Wrestlemania on! This isnt the NBA lol if you’d actually listened to people who studied this and are working with this virus...people suffering...and people treating the sick. You’d know very well that this is NOT “the same thing” as the flu my friend. Not at all. But keep believing this is just a giant media panic or “vast left wing political conspiracy or whatever. dOnT mEsS wItH mUh WrEsTlEmAnIA Well my friend then you haven't seen the video of real "doctors" explaining that the media is making this virus worst than what it is. Thousands of people die from the flu every year. Not nearly as many people have died from this virus than the flu. No conspiracy, its facts.

It's the crazies who get all riled up from watching the News all day that you gotta worry about. Same ones cleaning out all the stores last minute to be "prepared for the end" like it would matter. The next thing to worry about is the implementation of a police state along with losing the ability to travel and even losing some basic rights. Then you have the elderly and children to look after bc we all know most the world won't care for those who can't care for themselves. Pair all that together and you got some good ol Mass Hysteria. People will continue to do what people have always done, the dumbest most irrational 💩 until someone on the moving picture tells them otherwise.

Have some perspective. I really hope all of you saying this isn't a big deal don't lose anyone you love to this. People have and will continue to die from this.
I think the city of Tampa needs to be protected from tens of thousands of people flying in to potentially expose the entire community and region because of Vince's sh*tty vanity project.
