How do you feel about this? Panic? Its a government/media created hoax? Do you live/work in an area that could be affected? How do we feel about this?

I'm type 1 diabetic so not optimistic if I get it! I live In the north of England. My town has just had a confirmed case too. I'm a postal worker so going door to door collecting germs on my PDA in cold, windy, wet conditions 😂 I m sure it'll be okay though. How about you bud, what are your feelings?

Government created desease. It's a way of getting everyone vaccinated and who knows what's in those vaccines. Also talking about not using money anymore, cashless digital society. Some folks in Switzerland and in the U.S have micro chips in their hand that has all their bank details on it and that's how they pay for things. Some call it mark of the beast and system of the beast from Revelation.

Kinda thought it was a media caused panic at first , but now with stuff like NBA season being suspended , local schools getting shut down and cancelling proms and whatnot, it’s def becoming concerning. Hell I’ve been watching wrestling forever and never have I heard of them cancelling/moving venues for a show because of a virus going around. I called out of work today

Very concerned to be completely honest. It's gonna end up shutting down the whole of the UK. They've stopped events, they're talking about closing schools and it just seems as as we go along there's more cases and more people dying unfortunately. I live in a wee area of Glasgow called Scotstoun, and the leisure centre that has the Glasgow Warriors rugby team stadium has been shut as there's been cases found from people using the gym etc and a Rugby player has the virus too. It's only 5 minutes along the road from me, so I am quite concerned that it's about and unfortunately it's spreading quite quickly.

My state has been mostly low-grade affected...I think our cases are in the single digits. I work, however, in a state under a current state of emergency. My company is parented in Japan, and we have an international presence. We've currently barred all travel to any CDC3 level areas, and anyone coming from Japan (currently CDC2) is under a mandatory 2 week quarantine upon return before they can return to our US office. We don't have any WFH protocols yet for administration, but I guess it's being worked out.
I'll fully cop to the fact that I was pretty blase about this to begin with, but it's pretty evident now that it needs to be taken rather seriously. I still think there's a fine line between cautious preparedness and full blown panic. I fully intend on stocking my pantry over the next few days in the event that anyone in my household necessitates lock down for any period of time. I have a substantial sick bank through work that will keep us afloat in the event that I experience any time away, and my company is fully vested in the well-being of its employees, so I have little concern in that regard.
I'm concerned for my parents, both in their 60s...my mother is a diabetic, my father a former nearly lifelong smoker. They're woefully unconcerned in any sense, and are gung-ho about getting on this cruise they have planned for the end of April. That sort of brazen disregard for the current climate, I think, is almost as maniacal as the ones digging panic rooms in their backyard. People are acting contemptuously inconvenienced over the rash of cancellations and interruptions to their every day lives, but South Korea and China have proven that short term precautions now can significantly slow and stall the spread of this thing.
I think, at least domestically, that until our societal attitude shifts (and I don't think it will without some sort of drastic tragedy), we're going to be in this for the long haul.
PS: if you brazenly disregard this thing because "the only people who will die anyway are either old or immunocompromised", you're a certified dick.

after watching close loved ones die from cancer, I can’t be overly bothered by this virus. I don’t agree with hysteria. I’ve drank enough fear kool aid. that said - on an international level it’s very serious, steps should be taken with cancelling events just as they are, and I hope as few are affected by the disease as possible.

Supposed to be going to Tokyo in May so I've been keeping up with the whole thing. At this point it's probably still likely that I will go as Japan are handling it better than most places and apart from major tourist places being shut this month it's still life as usual there. By May those places should be back open. The Chancellor's Budget speech yesterday put me more at ease about a possible self isolation period when I return because my workplace will pay me sick pay from day 1 and the government will reimburse it due to it being a small business.
It's spreading everywhere so I've got just as much chance of catching it here in the UK as I do in Japan so I'm not losing my head over it by hiding from the world with a mountain of toilet roll and sanitiser.

Its getting real scary with how contagious it is and no vaccine. I knew it was going to be bad if it hit my area because of people's filthy hygiene habits of coughing and sneezing without covering their mouths in public.

If I understand it correctly, it all started when somebody in China ate a bat, right?
I'm having a hard time believing that.
Just make sure you all wash your hands. Especially after using a restroom. Common sense.

I’m not living in fear over it but I am being conscious. A co worker was sent home for the week because he has a family member that has it. It’s also quickly spreading in my county, so I can’t pretend like there’s no chance it will effect me.

I’m not going to panic and I think getting hysterical won’t help, but I’m certainly doing all I can to be cautious. Wash my hands frequently, cough and sneeze into my elbow or tissue, keep my immediate area clean, wipe down everything I use at the gym.
We haven’t even scratched the surface of this thing yet, but I feel like a lot of people are freaking out over how fast the numbers are increasing. The numbers are increasing fast because people are finding out they have it. They probably had it before too. My understanding is that it’s entirely possible to have it, not get sick at all, and pass it on to someone else who does get sick. Also, a lot of these cases (likely the majority) are people who will survive and recover. The number of deaths will drastically increase until we have a vaccine, but it will be at least months before we have that. Even after we have a vaccine, there will be people still getting it, just like the flu. The recovery rate will improve, but it’s important to not get hysterical.
Just like the many other global diseases I’ve lived to see, the world will survive this. The key is to absolutely take this seriously, but not panic. Be rational and don’t take unnecessary risks.
My biggest concern is that my supervisor constantly coughs into his hands and touches stuff all over the office. I’ve personally discussed it with him and I’ve tried to discreetly bring it up with his boss, but nothing is being done and he continues to practice poor hygiene.

Well on the surface
I have no f**ks to give on my end. Plain and simple. I am worried about young ones, low immune systems, older folks, and what not getting the virus. But, that worries anyone even with the flu, pneumonia, etc. From my knowledge I gathered it doesn't seem that bad. I really don't wanna get sick, and deal with the all the quarantining. And the media propaganda. I am more concerned with everyone freaking out and now basically putting us on the verge of a recession. My moms going full on crazy with it. Trump most likely only seemed concerned in his speech because of the political stigma, things like these cause going in a election.
Beyond the surface I slightly think maybe it's worse then we think and it's being hidden. Because I do not trust the government. But that's not my gut feeling.
I just wash my hands little more then I typically do, and I am little more mindful. I do have feeling it was part of some chemical warfare agenda in China, that got out. personally.
