Hands down, it was Benoit. I was only 10 at the time and trying to grasp what he did was super hard. I didn't really understand WHY everything happened until I was older. But it definitely left me feeling uncomfortable when I found out.

But it definitely left me feeling uncomfortable when I found out. You know, funny thing about that? I was old enough to process it alright. And the night after the truth of the ordeal came out, I had a dream (which I remembered), where I was tasked with going back in time and preventing the murders from ever happening. And the way I went about doing it was going back to the Attitude era, maneuvering my way into working for the WWE head office and changing their head-injury protocol for the long term. When I woke up and realized what I had dreamed, it was like my third eye was WIDE open. And when those pesky test results came out and everything did change? I have never been more shook from one of my dreams before in my life.

Would be easy, and I was ready, to say Kobe bryant.
But its Sean Taylor. That sh*t was tough.

There's a few recent ones. Robin Williams, Chester Bennington, and Kobe. They all seemed too young, vital, and talented to go, especially in such horrid circumstances. It made me realise how much I value pop culture as escapism from how harsh the world can be, so for the darkness to creep into my escape, it's a shame. Benoit is a bitter one too, I'm sure like a lot of people I loved him as a performer

I liked him a lot. Great actor. He was good enough that if he was in something, that was enough to make me want to watch it. His death did hit. His age and the freak accident. Just too soon and shocking.

This was a hard one for me too. His age alone, and the freak nature of it all. I am having a hard time bringing myself to watch the third Star Trek reboot movie because of it.

The Benoit murder/suicide literally gave me nightmares. He was one of my top 5 guys from the 90s and I had a tough time processing that. And Misawa (another one of my top 5 90s guys) getting killed in the ring pretty much made me stop watching wrestling altogether for quite a while.
Robin Williams death sucked too. It's kind of strange in retrospect how often there's a mention or allusion to suicide in his past roles. So sad.
And Dimebag and Vinnie. I remember cutting school to go home and learn his solos. Vinnie passing away recently dredged up a lot of those old feelings I had when Dimebag was murdered.

Guerrero and Warrior as far as wrestlers go. Guerrero's because the guy was just so entertaining and through all of his demons genuinely seemed to be the guy that everyone loved to be around. Warriors because of the way everything played out with the HOF and his Raw speech. Its as if he was given some added time to just say goodbye one last time to everyone.
As far as celebrities go, Steve Jobs and Kobe recently both hit me each because of growing up in that generation and their personal accomplishments.
But the one that hurt the most was easily Robin Williams. What can you say about a guy that knows how to hit the funny bone with every line that comes out of his mouth yet behind all of it is fighting the worst of personal demons. Its hard to think about a guy that gave so much to brighten everyone elses day at the expense of his own.

Robin Williams, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit and Chester Bennington. Cried about all 4.

Robin Williams because it sorta came out of nowhere and he was part of my childhood. I like a lot of his films. I preferred him in more serious roles though.
As far as f'd up I'd say Chris Benoit. I went to a Monday Night Raw a month before he died and was pretty shocked as the story slowly unfolded in the weeks to come.

Aaliyah
She seemed like such a good person, and then to pass away like that.

Sad for sure. Have you ever read the NTSB report on the crash? No. What did it say? Last I heard the pilot of the plane didn't have a license. Cocaine was found in his system and the plane was almost 1,000lbs overweight. Just a disaster.
