What are some of your favorite and least favorite set designs?
For me my favorite of all time has to be the original Monday Nitro set! It was so original and very different for its time. I really feel like WCW set the standard for what was to come as far as elaborate set designs are concerned. I’ve also got to give a shout out to Halloween Havoc 98. One of the best themed entrance sets ever.
As far as least favorite I’d have to say the original Thunder entrance that the only used for like 3-4 weeks. I also wasn’t a fan of the 99 Nitro set. The one that was just a big version the new WCW logo.

I always liked the simple sets like the old WWF ones with just a curtain and the logo ala WM IV/V, Rumble 92 etc. The WCW sets with the long ramp is another one. I also liked the neon entrance from 92-95.
Worst well the set after the classic WCW Nitro set comes to mind as does the generic as all hell sets they would use starting with Mayhem 99 until they folded.

I agree with the old wwf blue curtain / logo one as that was when the focus was on the stars and the action not the gaudy, in your face over produced led nonsense that they use now. Also like the old wcw nitro set, the bash at the beach and Halloween havoc (all versions up to 98)

I also really liked the block letter Raw stage used from 95-97

A few that come to mind that I always enjoyed — Halloween Havoc, Bash at the Beach, Smackdown Fist, King of the Ring Chair, Mania 29 Brooklyn Bridge
As far as awful, the most recent one that comes to mind is Mania 35. What a lazy effort put forward.

The WWF used to be so creative with their sets. I really liked the giant throne for King of the Ring, the swinging hooks for Backlash, Royal Rumble 00 and I thought the stage for the Invasion PPv was awesome too.
These days everything is too clean and sterile and there is no personality to it at all. Apart from when they go all out for WrestleMania of course.

Rumble you mentioned here, WM X, SSeries 96 and 02. They were little entrances but they were creatively well done.

Without a doubt my top WCW sets are Halloween Havoc and Bash at the Beach.
As for WWF, I really like the MSG entrances such as Summerslam 98 and Royal Rumble 00. The most recent set I liked was Summerslam 07 was pretty good too.

Best. MSG sets, 99 Smackdown, 98 Raw, Halloween Havoc, Thunder, Nitro, Bash at the Beach, IYH.
Worst. HD stages, all the Summerslams from 2000/2008, Judgment Day 2002, WM35.
