AEW Dynamite 4/1/20: Let the Murderhawkin' Begin

Really enjoyed tonight's episode surprisingly. It wasn't as crazy or insane as we usually know some episodes to be. But it felt very comfortable and enjoyable. I got the feeling once again of everyone having fun during this show and the promos tonight really did help to spice up some of the storylines. Excited that they taped a bunch and they will be able to continue on with these re-booked shows under this tense situation.

I think it's a Jags training facility, unless their stadium is domed. Could see the turf and would make the most sense.

way better episode this week!!! If you're going to do a show in an empty arena then you need to have some wrestlers at ringside like a pic fed, seriously - they add just that bit more so you don't miss the crowds too much.

Omega vs. Trent was hard hitting and solid. These guys did some dangerous spots to an audience of nobody and I give them an A for effort!

I love Shida but OMG Anna Jay is gorgeous!!! I thought it was Scarlett Bordeaux for a second, damn I want to see more Anna Jay every day.

Cody was bearable this week on the mic only because Cabana was a welcomed addition.

Lance Archer is a beast I love it!

I don't know what's going to happen to Harper, everyone loves this guy but he's given crap to work with. He should have been Jake's second hired gun or something. Archer and Brodie would have been a beast team.

Not a bad main event.

Tonight’s episode was great.

I just enjoy watching AEW. It’s hard to describe but they are taking risks and genuinely having fun doing it. The WWE always comes off as a chore to watch, which is why I haven’t watched the weekly shows since the fall (or most of the PPVs since then either). With AEW I look forward to Wednesday nights and seeing what they do next. Nobody feels overexposed and they seem to be trying to make everyone from the lower card to main event seem important.

I can't overstate how much of an impact AEW has had these last few weeks for me.  The show has always been an easy watch for me.  But right now AEW is pretty much the only slice of normal in life, and having something to look forward to on Wednesday night that doesn't feel any different than it did 4 or 5 weeks ago has been huge.  I really respect how hard they've worked to make the shows feel "normal" given the circumstances.  

No doubt it blew up some major booking plans and required some major planning on the fly, but what we've seen feels almost as seamless as the stories they had clearly spent months planning.
