Everyone’s introduction to this great sport is different, so how did you get here?
For me I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t a wrestling fan. Some of my earliest memories are of Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Ric Flair, and Sting. Wrestling was just part of my life from day one. When I used to visit my family in North Carolina someone always had Ric Flair on tv or were talking about when he was wrestling next. People in NC used to just call him Ric, as if he was a family friend. “When’s Ric wrestling?” or “Did y’all see Ric last night?” Wrestling was part of southern culture back then. I watched it all through my childhood and only stopped in about 2005 when I left for college. Even though I don’t watch it regularly anymore I still stay informed on what’s happening. I will always be a wrestling fan and I am so grateful to have this as part of my life!

macho man randy savage. saw him on tv, and then saw his LJN figure in a bag of toys from a Salvation Army that my grandmother volunteered at.
I liked how his colours and persona made him seem so much larger than life.

I'm gonna take a few quotes from my old school memories thread I made in the classic section last year...
''I was talking with my dad today and man talking about the good ol' days of wrestling brought back so many fond memories. I remember watching guys like Bruno,Andre,Graham, Putski etc. with him and man I was hooked from that day forward. From the gimmicks, announcers, feuds, angles, tag teams etc. I just loved everything about it. You humanoids know old school wrestling is my passion whether it be WWF,NWA/WCW,ECW,Mid South,AWA, WCCW, etc Man I love it all.''
''I cant thank my dad enough for bringing me into the crazy world of wrestling all those years ago. With a tear in my eye all I gotta say is...Long live old school wrestling!!''

Was born in 97(was late to the party) and was basically born into a wrestling fan family. My older brother had a ton of BCAs so I would take those EVERYWHERE I traveled to. There are pictures of me with Santa and the Easter Bunny holding my BCA Stone Cold and Undertaker in my hand every time. My brother was exposed to it from our great grandmother(R.I.P) on our mom's side who sat him down to watch Sting vs Ric Flair at either Starrcade or Clash of Champions(can't remember). She LOVED some Sting and HATED Flair. Plus, my great grandfather, who I never met, on my dad's side was a huge Bruno fan. It's basically been in my family for generations.

I remember enjoying the team of Ric Flair and Greg Valentine in late 1979. When Valentine turned on Flair and broke his nose with a cane, it was a shocking betrayal to my young mind. The world would not be set right until Flair got his revenge.

My grandfather was a fan, although I never really realized it and any time I was over there and it might've been on I payed no attention to it.
Eventually when I was in middle school my friends were fans and would play the video game that was out at the time, so after watching them play I was aware of some people and eventually began watching on TV and got hooked.

In 1998, there were three factors that shaped my entire existence. 1. My dad was an authority figure and I was constantly in his shadow
2. I had ADHD
3. I liked cute guysWell, I was flipping channels one day, and came across this guy. I was intrigued and kept watching. Within five minutes I realized three things. 1. His dad was an authority figure
2. He probably had ADHD
3. He was super cute. And the rest is history...(I did learn to appreciate the sport as a whole as time went on, naturally, and I still enjoy it now, but Shane was the reason that I started watching and he's been my favorite ever since.)

On Saturday nights, back in the 80s, I would sleep over one of my Uncles' or Aunts' houses maybe twice a month. Around 11:30 PM, on May 27, 1989, expecting to see Ben Stiller on SNL... I saw this... ...then I saw this... ...then I saw the Crown... ...the first time I ever cheered for the Heel... ...and finally, I saw these. That's all it took, and I was hooked.

I don't exactly know how, but I know when. It was around the Summer or Fall of 2006. I was about 2 and a half years old. I would just watch SmackDown! every week and watch the PPVs on DVD a month after they happened. The first PPV I saw was I think Unforgiven 2006 (maybe that's just the first one I remember). A lot of my earliest memories of wrestling and life in general was rooting for Edge, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Batista, Randy Orton, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Triple H, Matt and Jeff Hardy, MVP, Mr. Kennedy, and Rey Mysterio. But stronger than my love for those guy was my hate for one man, John Cena. On Christmas 2006 and my birthday in 2007 I got some wrestling figures and the rest was history I guess. Wrestling is all I've ever really known. I also got into a lot of music because of wrestling (Limp Bizkit, Saliva, Drowning Pool, MotorHead, and some others).

Never watched until I saw Royal Rumble 2004 and No Way Out 2004, after seeing those 2 PPVs I was hooked. I was a huge DBZ fan at the time but I knew most wrestlers from playing WWE: Smackdown Shut Your Mouth.

1985 Rock ‘n wrestling, cable tv and pop culture. Wrestling was more exciting than boxing when I was 7/8 years old I'm right there with you. A little bit before because mine was Roddy beating up Frankie Williams. But then that winter of 84 we got cable and then I saw all the rock and wrestling stuff. We were there before WrestleMania had a number and saw just the greatest angles. The heat the heels got and the love the faces got. WWE and whoever else can't buy those type of reactions anymore. The internet wasn't there to ruin anything.
