With a good influx of RA threads lately, I figure I'd make one considering this was the last era of the WWE I watched.Gonna talk a little about Sean O' Haire here.
I saw potential in em during the dying days of WCW but with them folding up we'll never know what he could've done. I remember being intrigued by his devil's advocate character in early 03 but in the end it never really went anywhere. Putting him with Piper was great though as I thought he did well in the heavy role and having Hot Rod as his heel manager was the icing on the cake.
They built em strong during this time with some good wins over guys like Rikishi, Benoit and Eddie G.With Piper getting fired that Summer spelled his end as he never recovered and would be gone by early 04.He's a guy who I thought could've made a good US champ if his run lasted longer.
Definitely a guy looking back I wish they did more with.

His whole devil's advocate character he had going, definitely had potential. and could have been interesting, but I've always thought, once he was paired with Piper, he was dead in the water. Usually, something like that, would be great for a rising star, being paired with one of the greatest talkers in wrestling. Thing is, once they attached Piper, they stripped away a lot of what made his new character seem interesting, and he just Piper's guy. I honestly think, that he might have had a better chance if he was never put with Hot Rod.

*edit* with Piper's firing though they easily could've put em back on the right track but they just put em on Velocity. Shame

God, I loved Sean. His look and demeanor in the devil's advocate promos were great. I thought he had a solid promo for that gimmick and he had some really good looking moves in the ring. I always based a lot of my created guys in video games off of his look growing up. He is on the top of my list of "what could've been" superstars.
P.S. I've been debating on making a thread about him, so I'm happy you did it!

Like I was saying, on paper, it seemed great, putting him with a great like Piper, but as it goes sometimes, once it came to practice, it hurt him more than it helped him. He just ended up being a background player to that stupid Mr. America/Piper & McMahon feud.

Definitely one of the dumbest in the long line of storylines of fired or suspended wrestlers coming back in disguised. You have those storylines work, by towing the line, where you put out hints to make it obvious who it is, but their appearance is covered enough, that you can play into someone else under the identity when the wrestler has to prove it's not really them. The only reason Mr. America is the dumbest, is because they smartly never did anything with the whole "Juan" Cena idea.

Especially with a look like his, he had the potential to break apart from the rest of the roster and be something pivotal for the midcard scene at least. It's sad. EDIT: I will never forget seeing Elias for the first time in NXT and instantly thinking of Sean O'Haire.

it was easy to see even in wcw that the guy was a talent. for his size and strength he had great agility and speed.
missed opportunity for sure, but his timing was a little off.
I also think Johnny the Bull was a missed talent, but that’s another discussion.

Should have been the muscle for Kurt Angle's group instead of Luther Reigns.
I don't know why Vince never got behind guys like Jindrak and O'Haire.
For some reason Chuck Palumbo was the only WCW New Blood type star that Vince wanted to use in any real way. I mean the guy had two Tag Title reigns.... what the hell is that?!?!

I was a fan of his devil’s advocate character and the vignettes he did back in ‘03 still hold up well imo. I still believe if they never stuck him with Piper he probably would’ve been one of Smackdown’s top heels at the time.

I always thought that Evolution should have continued after Batista & Orton left....and they should have recruited Jindrak & O Haire nto the group...I genuinely think it would have been excellent and given another 2 guys the rub before wrapping it up.

Thing is though, Evolution broke up in 2005, O'Haire was already gone the year prior in April of 04.

Wasn’t he the one they were thinking of replacing Batista with when he reinjured his arm, but Triple H couldn’t take his and Orton’s antics when the two of them were together backstage and traveling?
