The current situation is what it is. Mattel isn't making anyone's life more difficult because they're continuing to crank out figures. You want them to stop production altogether and more people lose jobs? What about stopping exclusive figures that stores are paying them to make to increase foot traffic? WTF are you actually wanting to happen? There's multiple places to shop online (sh*t, RSC basically runs this joint) and by the time most of these figs come out it'll be mid-summer. I’m happy they’re cranking out figures. Just having a discussion here. I want to hear what others think. Sometimes I speak in hyperbole. With everything going on, it’s becoming difficult prioritizing this hobby. I’m lucky to be able to work still, for now, but I’m not sure what the new normal is going to be, and I am still trying to get Pete Dunne and Kassius Ohno, damnit. That's Target di-di-distribution problems. Nothing new. No one knows what the new normal will be, but there will undoubtedly be more scalpers out there for collectibles to make more money. Things are going to get weird, but we have to push forward. |

Stores wants exclusives.
Mattel makes said exclusives.
From that point, it’s up the retail store to ensure what they ordered, is available to the customer.
Not everything is Mattel’s fault you know

Not really. If anything things are easier. Target has finally been getting things in and their collectors edition figures have been available. The only figures I have yet to see are Paige & Kassius Ohno due to Elite 71 not showing up yet but there is still time. Walmart offering preorders has been a good thing so the figures are easier to get but even if that didn’t happen those figures will probably be plentiful in store soon. If you are having trouble finding something all you have to do is keep checking everyday until you find it.

Well, hopefully Target follows suit and puts them on their website for Pre-Order like Walmart did for DoD Well it's a pain in the ass if the price exceeds £15, being from the UK you'll get tacked on with a ridiculous import fee that costs as much as the figure+shipping itself! Oh it’ll definitely be more than £15 lol |

^ Well that’s not Mattel’s fault. Mattel doesn’t just ship product to retailers if the don’t order it. And if the UK retailers are refusing to order it Mattel’s hands are tied. Difficult? Not at all. As long as they make the figures Mattel’s not making it difficult at all. Hell I was able to preorder the Walmart figures I wanted yesterday without any issues. Now hopefully Target follows suit with the Legends line. I'm eating my vitamins and saying my prayers man. All 5 Targets around me are terrible with stocking their sections and have been bare bones since the beginning of November |

Sure, you sold a toy for $50, but that seems like a lot of work for, what $15 profit? Maybe I'm totally missing something? |

I don’t see Mattel making it difficult. They still ship the product. If anyone is making it difficult it would be Walmart & Target. Everyday they keep changing things. Now Walmart only has one entrance open and is the entrance furthest away from the toys. Then they are talking about limiting the amount of customers in the store. By doing that collectors could miss out even though they were at the store and would have got it if they let them in. Also many times they don't stock the shelves right away and are never around to ask and many times lie when asked.

A lot of nice reveals yesterday. But as I scroll through, it feels unlikely I’ll be able to score many of these, if any, especially with lockdowns, and people losing their jobs, and non-essential items being stocked a lot less. It was hard enough to find store exclusives and chases when we weren’t locked down. Now with all this covid bs, who is willing to risk their lives to go against lockdown orders for Pete Dunne and Hollywood Hogan? Please Mattel. I’ll launch you a Shopify site where people can safely buy figures from their homes. This post almost sounds like you're blaming Mattel for COVID-19. Some products have already been confirmed to be delayed and that's totally out of Mattel's control. For someone like UE Hogan who is confirmed for UE series 7 we likely won't see that figure until Fall 2020 or Spring 2021 anyway. As someone who lives in Canada and misses out on basically every store exclusive because we simply don't receive them, I still feel it's unfair to pin the blame on Mattel here. And I'm sorry but there are much more important things to worry about right now than action figures. Ahhhh someone has found that mythical "perspective" that people had forgotten over the last 15+ years.... and it will serve them well.... that being said, I will friggin murder someone if I don't get my hands on both of those Rick Rude figures. |

Unrelated to COVID-19 points in the op... Yes Mattel makes things difficult sometimes, mainly for International collectors.
There were 6 figures from the reveals that i plan on getting, 4 of them are in Store Exclusive Sets. To my knowledge, Australia hasn't got any of these SE Sets in the past, only rare occurrences of the regular Elite Line SE's - Ohno, Paige, Royce etc...
I get that it's up to the retailers to want & order these sets, but for the large amount of International retailers that don't order them, you'd think Mattel would try do something so we can get these for regular prices, and not Ebay scalper prices. I've pretty much given up on the Royal Rumble Lashley & Lita for now, since i can't get either of them for under $80.
From the 6 new reveals i'll (try) get - Eddie, Razor, Kane & Big Show will likely cost me $100 each.
The other 2 i'll be able to get for regular price since they're on RSC - Riddle & Edge.

I don’t think economically the country can continue to absorb the cost of shutting down. And certainly not until August. Maybe we will get to the point where we will have to protect ourselves as best we can and accept, unfortunately, that people are going to get sick and some will die. Hopefully, a vaccine will come sooner than later and things won’t get that bleak. Hopefully, Mattel won’t screw these up like they did Harley Race. |

I think mattel is living in a dream world if they think toy sales are not going to tank even more because of covid-19.
All these reveals are great and everything, but chances are we will not see a lot of them at all in stores.
Plus with all these companies laying people off in droves, toys are going to be the last priority or not a priority at all.

I’m getting them easily and will continue to get them easily and post them on evil bay 🤑🤑🤑 if you want a dunne so bad get the one ringside. I don’t work at Target or Walmart either, there are so many tools to help you track down these figures.
