Ok, story time

I was 15 when I started watching the WWE.

And at 15, I kept really odd hours.

So my parents and I had a deal. They didn't complain about me never sleeping, and I didn't keep them awake.

This led to many nights in the basement watching the TV on low.

One night, at about 12:15 AM or so on a Sunday morning, i was flipping channels. And I found... wrestling,

But this was nothing like the wrestling I was used to. It was dark, dingy, the crowd was tiny, and the set was poorly lit. Still I decided "What the hell" and watched it.

And then, I watched someone get suplexed through the entrance ramp. And was immediately hooked.

Needless to say, I started making Saturday Midnight Madness a weekly thing. It was shown on the local university station, and didn't seem to be on every week. But when it was on, I was there and I loved it.

I remember Joel Gertner and his leud intros
I remember watching RVD fly his a** all over that ring
I remember the endless commercials for the Kimona Wanaleia striptease dance
I remember when New Jack and Vic Grimes missed the tables

I have so many memories of that ish that when those Saturday nights ended, I was deeply saddened. I never watched a single episode of ECW on TNN, partly because I never knew when it was on, partly because it felt like I was cheating on my Saturday night ritual. 

And in 2001, when ECW showed up on WWE? It was a huge stonking mark out moment for me.
