Why is it so hard for people to just stay at home for a few months? Seriously... All the protests i see are simply embarrassing, do people honestly think like this? Is this how people actually act? What i find funny about it, is they protest these lockdowns and social distancing, dismiss the danger of the virus and think it's all some government driven conspiracy, all while wearing face masks and freezing in silence when a reporter or anyone with a camera/microphone proves them wrong right in front of their face. With that out of the way, onto the actual topic. All these States opening up is beyond stupid. June or July should be the EARLIEST any state (AROUND THE WORLD) should consider re-opening. Like others said, they're trying to be 'the first' to do this & that; it's going to majorly backfire and they'll all be back to square one. Just lock it down, lock it down for another 2 months and go from there... If people are smart enough, they'll stay home even after these places re-open. Like someone else said, Politicians only care about money over Human life. They always have and they always will, so they'll do anything they can to line their pockets, even if it costs them 100+ Human lives. I don't know how people can actually sit there and watch people die just so they can get even more rich... It's disgusting. Then again, i'm surprised at how some Politicians function, considering the Man in charge of the US suggested that people "Inject themselves with Disinfectant".At no point did he say that. It was mentioned that disinfectants kill the virus (which is obviously true) then turned to a group of doctors/CDC reps and said "Is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?" and proceeded to say to them to look into it...which clearly scientists are already doing in labs. At no point did he tell people to go swallow bleach or Lysol. This is the difference between watching, listening & comprehending what is said and clicking on a hashtag and reading what a bunch of mindless morons are tweeting about because "big orange man bad" If you're dumb enough to A)Think social media is facts and B)Swallow disinfectants, you probably deserve to get what you get. Darwinism at its finest. Im not gonna discuss it further & get the thread locked but I always urge people, regardless of their political side to actually educate themselves and get the facts. Self research is going to be your most reliable source of info, far more than media/social media which are heavily biased (in both directions) |

I'm just not sure how you start doing these live events during a pandemic during social distancing measures.
Having been to so many live wrestling events it's somewhat hard to picture how you could safely manage a social distanced live sporting event and make it work.

As bad as I want fans back, and as much as they’re sorely missed, this isn’t worth risking their life over. They, at least, however, need to have a few dozen staff, and talent spread throughout the PC, or wherever they’re holding shows, and, like AEW, have them be the fans during this time.
Wrestlemania was a pretty good show match wise, but was completely ruined by dead silence, and no kind of audience whatsoever. It’s was absolutely miserable having to endure while watching. At least with AEW, they tried to give their empty area shows some kind of life... 🙄

I just heard that AEW will be live and they may have people in attendance for dynamite on Wednesday in Jacksonville. 25 % capacity.

I was meant to fly out the Orlando from the uk yesterday with plans to watch NXT - currently rebooked for September but not even holding out much hope things will even be normal by then

This virus has killed nearly 250,000 people worldwide. Conventional wisdom says we're at least a year away from a vaccine. Anyone who thinks they can go to a live event of any sort in the near future without serious risk isn't plugged into reality. But will people still do it? I'm sure they will.

Before this thing gets locked because it's clearly coming lol...
I think even full sail at 25% capacity could work effect wise. Just having the few wrestlers around the aew ring helps a surprising amount, 100 people could make a lot of noise. Just keep the hard cam positioned on the entrance because a quarter audience will look super awkward.

Seriously. Stay home. It's bad enough that I'm trapped in a position where the people around me won't accept the idea of sheltering in place. I eventually gave up on my parents after I failed to convince them that driving three hours one way to get their lawn furniture fixed wasn't an essential activity.
Don't get me started on my Peer Specialist and her guilt-tripping.
I went to Walmart to grocery shop today. There is no social distancing at Walmart. It doesn't happen. They claim they keep tabs on how many people go in at once. Except, those numbers are based on if there are 800 people in the entire store, not 800 people in the grocery section.
It's insane. The whole thing. Just insane.

If fans are back in arenas, that means security, concessions, and maintenance also have to be present. That's more bodies, more "essential personnel" (that are actually essential), and a guaranteed increase in the chances of physical interactions in common areas and contamination from asymptomatic individuals.
