I figured what better way to make the collecting community smile during this pandemic.

With that said, if all comes to plan, I'm starting tomorrow by giving away a big item... HINT - Value is around $1,250. It's a figure. I put up an arbitrary number of likes, and if we don't hit it I'm still going to give away something... And, I'll keep giving away stuff.
In fact, I love giving stuff away. I'm a collector. I get the collecting mentality. And, I love it.
We're all connected by our connection to connecting. Just think...
The inherent value of a collectible item rests in what it represents. There is a reason a Hulk Hogan PSA 9 1982 Wrestling All Stars card sells for $3,000. The reason isn’t the card stock… the reason is the emotional attachment to something that represents something or someone massively aspirational. An action figure is plastic, deco and wrapped in corrugate and blister. It's not the plastic that we love. It's what the plastic represents. It's our piece of that aspiration.
And, as I worked through my career, I realized early that I also have a connection to the people who connect with collectibles.
With that said...
I sure hope that you are safe, healthy, and not terribly impacted by this pandemic. But, I know that some of you have been struck with real setbacks - from job loss to the loss of a loved one or a friend. I know that there is going to be more loss. This reality burdens all of us. For me it comes in the form of being concerned about family and friends - and specifically my senior parents who are 80 and have preexisting conditions. We all have someone we're worried about, and that's yet another thing we have in common.
So, in this time, I just want to bring a few smilies.
Starting tomorrow. Or technically, starting today. Whatever. CNY.
