Otis walks backstage and slips on a sandwich and the case flies in the air and AJ catches it and then he is the new case holder.

I think breaking up Heavy Machinery means that Tucker is released in 2-3 years.
I think making the MITB eligible for any title is exciting because it kind of refreshes creativity of the concept. The MITB concept has been very dull for me for the past few years, even when they try to make cash-ins and wins different.
I think the last cool winner was Ambrose and making each Shield member the WWE champion in one night. I also liked Carmella as MITB because she was a great character to use it as a taunt to the rest of the women. Bayley was also pretty good but I'm not super into cashing in the night you win the MITB personally. Alexa Bliss was okay I suppose. Corbin, Braun and Brock all sucked. Otis winning was definitely not the pick anybody had but I think his win could maybe make for some fresh MITB storylines. I'd say just cash it in on some heel tag champions.
With that being said, in reality, wouldn't you win the big one if you can cash in on ANY champion? Why waste your time with a mid-card or tag title when you can be the biggest star in the company? It could be a character trait of Otis on his loyalty to Tucker. Maybe just one more thing to get them over as a great team. I really dig Heavy Machinery together.

After the Fiend defeats Strowman, Braun returns one night to take it out on happy sweater Bray. Several power-slams later, Braun leaves. Then Otis and Tucker trot to the ring for Otis' cash in. But just as it appears he's about to defeat Bray, Tucker get overcome with jealousy. He jumps in the ring and beats Otis over the back with the MITB briefcase while screaming "You ruined a good thing".
Then we can get a several month program between Otis & Tucker. Scratch that, it's trash. In the upcoming weeks we see Mandy is persuading Otis to be more and more aggressive. We can tell he's uncomfortable with it, but good god is she hot. She even convinces him to cash in before he's ready. He loses to Braun or Bray. Otis isn't too upset with her because good god is she hot. Eventually the more aggressive Otis gets the more he loses touch with who he is. He's falling further and further down the rabbit hole. Then Tucker returns one day to help him realize what he's become. Tucky is the only one still one his side. After some tough decision making, Otis dumps the super hottie and goes back with Tucker.
