I honestly thought Crime Time was an entertaining tag team. What they did to Lita after she “retired” was funny to me. I’m no Lita fan so it didn’t bother me that she didn’t get a proper send off, but enough about Lita. I thought it was more likely than not that Shad wouldn’t make it. He died doing such a selfless thing. Saving his son’s life even though it costed his makes him a hero.
RIP Shad Gaspard

WWE should honor him with the Warrior Award when ever we have a Hall Of Fame again.

Always a shame when someone’s taken too soon, especially given the circumstances, RIP Shad

Sadly this was the inevitable conclusion to the story. Once he was not found soon after he went down, it was a one and a million shot he was going to be found alive. Hopefully his son won't feel some kind of survivor's guilt over this. At least now though, his family can at least properly lay him to rest. I can't imagine going through losing someone and then not even being able to give them a proper farewell. Cryme Tyme was definitely one of those cases where WWE made me shake my head. They were over huge, and they never got at least one run with the tag team titles. Then that dumb move to break them up, which didn't help either.

This is gut-wrenching.
Does anyone know the status of his son? I read conflicting reports that he went missing too.

I completely missed out on the period during which Cryme Tyme had their run, but nevertheless, a man who many held in great regard has lost his life at a time when many of us have little more than our families upon which we can lean. To me, that only exacerbates the tragedy his family must now endure. From all I've read, it sounds like Shad was one hell of a human being.

That's terrible, but I'm glad they were able to save his son. What a hero. My thoughts are with his family and friends. I always felt like Cryme Tyme never got their opportunity to shine in WWE. It would have been great to see them return down the line.

WWE should honor him with the Warrior Award when ever we have a Hall Of Fame again. 100000% agreed. I came here to comment the same - the man gave his life to save his son. RIP Shad.

This is gut-wrenching. Does anyone know the status of his son? I read conflicting reports that he went missing too. Shad's last act before he was swept away by the rip current was successfully making sure his son was saved by the lifeguards.

Damn heartbreaking. Seeing all the tributes from the people who knew him best on Twitter the last two days really cemented what a good person he was.
RIP Shad.

I'm sorry about Shad Gaspard. I can relate to the situation in a way. The waves in the ocean are dangerous and you can never be too careful. He is in a better place now.

Damn shame he died, the world lost a good man. RIP Shad.
Really opens my eyes and realize the ocean and waves are no joke. I literally went to the beach 2 days before this whole thing happened, and the first thing I noticed was how strong and fast the waves were.

WWE should honor him with the Warrior Award when ever we have a Hall Of Fame again. Absolutely. The man gave his life for his son. That's a true hero there. And just reading this thread, it sounds like it wasn't the first time Shad went above and beyond for another person. I'd love to see Shad get this honor.

Such heartbreaking news. I was a huge Cryme Tyme fan back in the day and always found them entertaining.
RIP Shad
